Title: XS60 brake
Post by: moorepower on June 15, 2014, 06:28:10 PM
Just for fun after working on the .177 version today, I slid the brake out about 1-1 1/2" and secured it. It will not be confused with my TKO on the .22, but it quiets a quite a bit. I was shooting in doors, so it is easy to tell.

I have one coming in on Monday.  the noise level could be an issue (mine is the co2 version in 22 cal).  I am hoping it is not "too" loud

I tried that too, Pat... it does change the tone. I haven't gotten around to it yet, but it might be worth gluing something closer to caliber into the muzzle to hold more air back.

I am just thinking a chunk of 1" delrin rod could be made to take factory=cheep M-rod baffels in a hurry to make a quick and effective LDC for a XS60. I don't even know why I tried it, but I was surprised. The TKO is so quiet that you really hear the tank ping when fired, then the impact of the pellet.

Moorepower:  I put a TKO on my 1st gen .22 because it was as loud a a powder burning .22 and you are correct- the only thing I heard was the ping, but i took care of that by putting a piece of tubing inside the air reservoir and all you hear is the pellet hitting the target.  Small reduction of 1-2 shots in the shoot string.  Super nice and worth the money for me as I have elderly neighbors.
