Title: New Gas Ram in NPSS impressive chrony numbers
Post by: Perry01 on June 15, 2014, 06:23:32 PM
The FPS in my NPSS started to drop below 700 so I figured the gas ram was getting tired so I ordered a couple from Crosman. All I can say is wow! It used to be a 20 FPE airgun but lately it dropped to 16-18 FPE.

Now, after 50 or so pellets, it's shooting 14.3 gr CPHP pellets an average of 850 fps for 23 FPE.

It's a bit harder to cock but that doesn't really bother me. The great accuracy is back as well.

Here are a few screen shots of the chrony.

Have to love it when FPE jumps and you dont lose accuracy.  nice numbers there for sure

Yea, if I would have known the velocity would increase so much, I would have replaced the gas ram a long time ago.

My guess is you're getting some dieseling.  Once the lube burns off you should settle in @ around 17-18 FPE.

What lube?

I just replaced the gas ram. The piston didn't come out and I now got over a hundred pellets through it since replacing the gas ram and velocity is still 850 fps.

Those are some sweet numbers. That's what I was hoping the NP2 would be around there.
