Title: 1077 actual power/limits?
Post by: DavidS on June 14, 2014, 01:49:08 PM
Since I already have a 1077 waiting to be picked up from the store next time I make it to town (a few weeks yet).   What is the real world power, and limits of the 1077 out of box.

I was originaly planning on modding it to HPA, though now probably just some power mods, and tube bulk, we will see.

As a 1077 owner, I limit  mine to plinking. The long double action trigger pull is horrible and accuracy is so so. I installed a HPA barrel stabilizer, that improved accuracy a little, and I had less fliers afterwards. My best  group was 1/2" at 10 yards with RWS Meisterkulgelns, from a rested position. Cheap Crosman Destroyers are accurate enough (1 1/2"or so offhand) when the soda cans and paper animal targets attack though. A tin of pellets can disappear fast in this 12 shot repeater when the Grandkids are shooting with me.  I cannot comment on using it for hunting/pesting though, as I have other airguns with much better accuracy and power I trust for that purpose.

At fifteen meters, I'm guessing that a well-placed shot with a 1077 would make a medium-sized rat angry enough to consider retaliation.
Mine gets plenty of use as a plinker.

Well it sounds like it will be a fun toy.      And how does it do after being modded for power?

I am a die hard addicted AirGun Modder :) .

I picked up a second 1077 hoping to fool with it.
I don't have enough experience to mess with a power mod, but It might be fun to install a reasonable barrel, or mod it for belt feed.
