A lot of .22 cal. Marauder fans like to start with a low pressure fill. I was wondering if this chart looks ok ?

Im not sure if its ik...but i do know if snag up a mrod,...im going to want mine at 2K-2.5K psi
-
Pretty good, I could live with that. Powerful enough and reasonably efficient. Either a little less sweat for a pump filler or more fills per tank for a tank filler.
-
I dont have a chrony but my gun shoots best from 2400 psi - 2000 psi. Thats using the gauge reading on my rifle.
-
I typically fill mine to 2700. I don't have a chrony so I couldn't tell what I'm getting, but I like to fill it back up at 2200. I figure I get about 25 shots with that method. I pump and it's a good workout for me.

How many pump does that take??? As I maybe pumping my rifle
-
I get 2 full mags with mine shooting H&N Barracuda that produce nice little 5 shot groups at 40 yards.
-
Im using a Hill pump. I figure roughly 45-50 pumps for my setup.

That's a great shot string and he knows it.
With stock parts you get that power range, but only 16 good shots and from a 3200 psi fill. Or you can get 24 shots from a 2500 psi fill but at a peak of 790 FPS - about 100 FPS lower than Hill's string. Even the 24 shot string from 3000 psi fill only peaks at 830 FPS.
To get 3 magazines from a 2600 psi fill at that power level (880 FPS) is worth the price of the upgrade kit. You must put a stiffer poppet return spring in the valve.
BTW, you guys with PCPs who don't have a chrony are really missing out. You need to get one soon.

that looks pretty nice, I fill to 2500 because I get a lot more fills from my 3500lb tank. what does the hill kit consist of,and whats the price?

Thanks, but I didn't know for sure. It's always good to compare. Now I know :)

The kit consist of a modified valve assembly, modified gauge port/block, modified transfer port, aftermarket hammer spring, de-pinger, and 4- O-rings.
I will PM you the price.
If anyone else is interested, just let me know.

Will this kit work in an Mrod .22cpistol? Is there one?

For Gen 1 OR Gen 2 Marauder Rifles only

Looks like a great string to me,and very nice kit.I fill to 3200psi and get 20 shots flat@ 970s using 21.14gr barracudas/10 shots from low 900s to high 800s.For me that's a great high power shot string that leaves the gun at 2100psi taking about 100pumps to fill back up..My arms are getting quite toned too.hahaha 8)

How difficult to install--I know that is a subjective question, but can an average mechanically inclined person accomplish the installation?...
Thanks...BCB

Most don't seem to have a problem. There are some videos on youtube you can look over before making a decision - like this one;
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIxXkIpS3ok (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIxXkIpS3ok)
To add;
Once the kit is installed, the starting settings are simple - and are as follows;
Set hammer throw ( 1/8" wrench ) to 0 ( fully CCW )
Set hammer spring ( 1/4" wrench ) to 0 ( fully CCW )
Velocity screw ( 5/16" wrench ) will be preset to fully open ( 5 CCW ).
No worries about the settings moving or "self adjusting" and altering the shot string.
The barrels inlet port remains stock, so no worries about drilling it out.

Hill: I'm a newbie to these PCP guns I just bought a marauder 2 days ago. What sort of gauge are you N u. Using that you are able to determine exactly has much pressure your getting at each shot.
-
I must need glasses. I totally misread this post thinking it was about a 25 Marauder. I'm sorry, what I said is irrelevant.
I do like Hill's approach to making tuning much more simple and stable for someone to just install some new parts and they are good to go.
On my Gen1 22, I get 32 good shots per fill at various fill pressures if the VMS is wide open, so I decided to go with a higher power tune with a peak of 25 FPE and just use 3 magazines. To get a 4th good magazine, I had to drop the velocity far too much to be worth while for me.

Is there any spacer to keep the depinger forward of the gauge block?.... How large is the hole in the depinger?.... Which way is it installed, and is there a chamber in the large end?.... Just visually it looks like the volume downstream of the depinger is pretty small for a 25 FPE gun....

- The spacer is built in.
- Larger opening against the gauge block.
- There is an open chamber.
- During testing, with the de-pinger installed in my .25 cal. Marauder Rifle; with the stock gauge block, the stock chamber inside the valve body, and shooting 25.39 grain pellets - max fps was 980 or 54.16 fpe, and with no ping. With a higher flowing valve assembly, if feel like the fps would have been even higher. Also, since 980 fps is already faster than I want to shoot pellets (transsonic, supersonic, etc.), I saw no need to test without the de-pinger installed.
Since the topic of de-pingers seem to come up often, a while back I decided to make a video and post it on youtube. This is my .22 cal. rifle shooting 25.39 grain pellets in a range from 868 - 918 fps, and with no ping. Only the muffled report of the rifle discharging can be heard.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5I3OhZlfV98 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5I3OhZlfV98)
Many of these same de-pingers have been sold, and with no complaints.
They work with all the Marauder Rifle calibers.
Also, another configuration is available for the smaller pressure tubes such as the Discovery Rifle, Marauder Pistol, Challenger Rifle, 1720T Pistol, 1701P Pistol, etc. (see pic).
Thanks,
Tim

Very interesting results with that pressure level!

Wonder the results with this kit plus bstaley mod

I like your thinking.

I watched the video and I think I could get all apart, but putting it back together would be a problem...
Guess mine will stay factory...
