Title: A few bad reviews on the NP2 got me thinking
Post by: OldFlyRod on June 02, 2014, 07:03:10 PM
I preordered my Camo NP2 from Airgun Depot back in March. I'm thinking on dropping out of the race for one of first ones to give them time to straighten a few of the bugs out. It's looking like there may be an aftermarket demand already, for a steel replacement, for the plastic portion of the shroud. It seems that of the few reviews I have read close to 50% are going back. I have never done business Airgun Depot before and don't
want to get caught up with all the issues that can arise with returning something bought over the net. Any advise?

I've got an NP2 on order from PA also.  I've about 90% decided I'm going to change my order to a Trail XP.  The reviews on the PA site are very good for the XP.  For $20.00 more I think it will be worth the extra money.  Any thoughts?

I bought one of the 125 snipers from Airgun Depot and had to send it back. You would think I would learn, but my 125 sniper turned out great. They were excellent to deal with. I did not even see a pre-order at Airgun Depot so I pre-ordered mine from PA and paid the extra 10.00 to make sure it at least shoots somewhat like it should when it ships. Also hoping they will look for cracks or flaws while doing so. That camo is awesome, but just waiting a week for the black stock is driving me nuts. Might buy a camo stock later.

I saw a video they placed at the crosman website and by the grouping its showing I think its no better shooter than the actual ones. I wont be spending my money on more crosmans that is for sure, Last week I had in my hand a new version of the 1377C and is in no comparison the same gun they were selling 15yrs ago, the actual one is done with flimsy looking plastic parts.

Your right about the 1377, but the good new is you can totally mod that gun out and make it one of the best pumpers on the market. I have one to mod someday. still enjoy shooting it until then.

I have a Benjamin NP trail and It has never disappointed me except it shoots a little slow. Maybe I'm just lucky that way.

I do like the 10 for 10 idea from PA and was wondering if AD offered a similar deal.

I called PA this morning to change my order from the NP2 to the XL (Not XP like I wrote above), but the gal I talked to talked me into the NP instead.  She said it makes a better target gun than the XL, which is about 99% of my shooting anyhow.  I also did the 10 for 10 deal to make sure I get a good working gun.  I'm kind of anxious to try it out!

Don't know about the NP2 but I can say the NP in my 125 .25 Sniper is fantastic!
770 FPS with H&N 19.91 and deadly out to 70+ yards!
I ordered a NP from Crosman to convert the Talon .22 is how much I like them.

I really enjoyed my NP1 also, but I jumped the gun when Crosman said they were going to release a bigger badder version and sold mine to a friend for 200 bucks. I had replaced the trigger, cleaned it up and had put close to 2k rounds through her. I thought the np2's would be out in April and it would be hard to get rid of it after  the new model was on the shelf. Wish I would have held off now, but what's done is done.
