Thanks guys I notice that you have a different site on your 2300 in the picture 45bravo. I ordered the scope i'm older and can't see close without reading glasses my question is how good will the scope one my 2300 be? Also the other site like yours or a red dot how would they work for older eyes?

The avatar photo is a 2289 backpacker pump up crosman.

But yes the red dots are much better for older eyes, like mine too..

On pistols I like the dot sights as they don't magnify the shake or body movements like a scope does.
And are capable of great accuracy, but the dots at 25 yards will cover about an inch circle.
But you can adjust the intensity so you can see through them.

That dot sight is a BSA  RD30
Sold at Walmart for $29
It has 11 levels of brightness, a sharp clear round dot, sits low to the bore.

Some of the cheaper dots seem to change shape as they get brighter.
This one doesn't.

Also it has a dual size mount, one size is for dovetail rails like what will come on your crosman gun, the other side is a picatinny rail mount, so it will work on different mounts with nothing to buy.

Here are 2 of my other toys that have red dots on them.
In this configuration, while clean lines, it is hard to focus on the iron sights.
I regularly hit shotgun shells at 25 yards with her..

This is my latest one, in .22 caliber for pesting.
It started off as a 2240 pistol.

Shoot us some photos when she comes in, (we like photos)
And keep us posted.

Awsome guns thanks I will pick up the BSA for my 2240 and get a steel breach to put it on GREAT help thanks so much. The carbine picture is the stock setup holding a power source? OH I will do pictures I like them too. Can't wait to get my 2300 hope it comes today.

No, no extra power source, they both use 12 grams from the front.

The brass one is in .177 caliber, and has many internal valve mods and trigger mods, and a longer barrel, I haven't chronoed it yet, but it will shoot through a 1/2 gallon milk just filled with water at 25 yards, with a daisy 7.8 grain wadcutter.
It is shooting hot..

The other is still a stock 2240 with a steel breech, re crowned barrel, and some trigger work.

The aluminum piece on the rear is a stock adapter to allow you to use paintball/ airsoft gun stocks, and also has a power adjuster built in, to control the preload on the hammer spring.

The standard crosman stock just doesn't give me a good cheek weld.

Ian - not to hijack this thread - but did you make this pellet holder? Seems like a neat idea. I'm guessing you close the lid, tip it forward and a few pellets go into the small cup? Seems easier to be able to pick up just 1 pellet at a time, instead of "chasing one around the tin". If you bought it, where from? Thanks

Actually, you are not seeing it in its "travel" configuration.

The foam gives so you are not "chasing the pellet"

I bought it from Hobby lobby, for a couple of bucks.
and using spray adhesive glued foam in the top and bottom.

There is another piece of foam you are not seeing.
I will take photos this evening after work.
The small hole in the center is for an Allen wrench, the larger 2 holes are to accommodate the tips of 2 co2 cartridges as they lay in the closed box.

I lay the other piece of foam down (to sandwich the pellets so they don't get damaged.)
Then lay 2 co2 cartridges  on that, and a bottle of oil between them.

The noses of the co2 lay over the 2 drilled holes.

You will see in the photos.

Just grab the box and a gun, and you are ready for about 120 shots all in one box.

Unless I grab the pistol shown then I get about 40-50 shots between the 2 cartridges..

Here it is when you open the box, the pellets are under the foam, and everything fits just right..

Ian,
I'm interested. Very crafty idea, but I have no idea where to start looking once I arrive at that huge store. What is the box called and where is it located? (What dept.?)
Thanks,
F

Ha Floyd the gun in your post is that a crosman stock that you added wood to or something else looks real nice. Can you put up a bigger picture? Wow so many nice guns I need to look for a picture section on here.

I like - guessing it was not made for pellets, but something else. Like Floyd asked - got a link?

I apologize for making your thread make a left turn.

So did your 2300 come in?
It really is a good deal, adjustable trigger spring, steel breech, choose your barrel length and muzzle break from the get go.

You could not buy a 2240 and do the mods and add the parts for the price you get the CCS 2300.

I guess I am saying,,

SHOW US YOUR NEW TOY!!!!!!!

Mike,
Yes it is a standard Crosman stock. I added the insert and the cheek plate. A friend gave me a slab of black cherry wood and I went to work. That wood is super hard, making it tough to work with, but time is your friend when hand shaping this stuff. The insert has a crack but it's not all the way thru and I like it as a character line.....kinda like all those wrinkles on my face. :) Here are the pics:

UPS brought me my new 2300KT this afternoon I was as nerves as a 10 year old at Christmas. Opened it up and everything was great. Mine was built by Pamela. There should be a thread about who built our guns I think it would be interesting to know how many people are building them. Thanks for asking 45bravo. Floyd that is my favorite wood I have a gun rack I built out of cherry your gun looks great nice job. Bravo I don't know exactly how to post a picture off my phone but I will try. i plan on adding a lot to it so I might copy some of your all mods hope you don't mind.

I already have a 2240 and love it shoots great that's why I wanted a custom shop gun.

Got mine almost 2 years ago.  It has a Williams target sight, RB grips, Mellon power adjuster and an archer super sear.  So far it likes RWS Hobbys the best.

Unless you can reduce the size of the photo on your phone you may have to use an image hosting site like tinypic.com or some other.

There are tutorials on here about that, but basically you upload your photo to the site and copy the location into your message.
I find it kind of hard on a phone , but easier on the iPad as it has a bigger screen for my old eyes.
