Just was reading Pyramyd Blog and 880 is given faint praise and compared with tuned guns costing 3x as much. Apparently it's OK to spend a great deal of money to tune an expensive gun that should have been dandy off the shelf, but not a couple of hours to bring the 880 up to the same level as the off the shelf springer. Does my 880 put 10 pellets in the same hole at 25 yards? No. Does it have minute of pop can accuracy at 30 yards and minute of starling at 20. Darn right and its limitations are more those of the shooter than the gun. It is simply the best gun $50 will buy. And that's the most that many of of us social security guys can afford. My dad once told me that the number of times a boat got used was inversely proportional to its cost. The same is true of airguns.

Nice rant!

I know what your saying. Metal or plastic version; neither get the praise they deserve for their cost/value ratio. (IMO). ;)

I couldn't agree more! It seems to me that if the brand doesn't start with a C they don't have much good to say about it. The Daisy 880 is truly a Masterpiece! Always has been and always will be! For $50 you won't find better. ;)

thanks for the rant, and I don't give a patootie about "that blog". You are 100% correct in your commentary.
