After shootjng across the chrony with my new at44-10 long qe. Man this thing is blazing pellets. 14.3 cphp avg 1030fps. But after about 15yrds the groups open up. My question is would slowing it down to around 900-925fps help on the accuracy? That's still 25fpe. Also while I had it apart I check the transfer port & holes on the valve. The top hole doesn't line up with the t.p. Would I benefit if I plug the 3 most bottom holes. I'm just trying to get the most efficientcy & accuracy out of a common pellet. Or am I wasting my time. Thanks.

In typical PCP fashion ..... MOST all like and do best with HEAVY pellets !!
18-21 grains honestly would be my first place thing doing in slowing things down.
From there you rework valve some and start choking down the transfer port size ... or install a regulator perhaps ?

Thanks. I'm gonna try some 21gr copper coated & see how they work.

Try 18.1 gr. JSB Exact Heavies....

I've tryed 18.1 heavys. They shoot about a 1" group at 40yrds I feel it should shot better. It's a new gun so I'm just gonna shoot it for now till I get a few pellets through It then I'll see how it does.

I have a at 44w10, was shooting very fast when new, around the 1000 fps on some pellets.
I reduced hammer spring tension by a turn and a half, it now shoots 850 fps with 18 grain JSB pellets.
I have found that accuracy and shot count improved with the reduction in power, well worth doing.
Mine shoots JSB express, 16 grain and 18 grain all very well, about 3/4 inch at 50 meters.

I'm gonna try to turn the spring down. How much did help efficiency? I would be some what happy with 3/4" groups at 50yrds. Even at 850fps that's plenty of power with 18.1 gr pellets.

went from 30 shots between 190 bar to 100 bar to 40 shots between the same pressures.
