Awaiting user reviews. Looks promising based on early feedback. I give Crosman credit for the focus on resolving known issues in the current NP implementation and assembling the NP2s in the US.

They changed the piston size, trigger, barrel link, shroud and supressor and stock. I believe the pictures show a machined piston instead of formed. If you watch the SHOT video and pay close attention, ther seems to be very little recoil. I want to read some detailed reviews. All the improvements should be really good.

My NP2 wood stock .22 arrives next Thursday.  I'll let you know my take that weekend, with pics.

I'm waiting to see what most folks think.  I'm hoping they came up with a winner this time.

A couple of negative reviews on the .177 from England? How did they get them first?

Hmmm, Thanks.  I'm gonna have to wait for more than just one user review.  Hope to hear more soon.

I may be wrong, but I thought I ran across that review a few weeks back

Curious to know why the .177 is harder to cock?  Shouldn't it be the same power plant?

A question that can't be answered yet but this thread will probably see more traffic as more NP2 guns get out there...

Even if the NP2 is everything the hype promises I don't really like the looks of any of the stocks. I'd have to hold the wood version and one of the plastic stocks to know how they feel but appearance wise they don't do it for me. I'm wondering if the NP2 mechanicals would fit into one of the other Crosman/Benjamin stocks like the Nitro Venom Dusk or one of the Magnum springers.

I'm fairly sure it wouldn't end up being a drop-in for either family of stocks but hopefully it wouldn't take too much fitting to get the NP2 into one or the other. My WAG is that something like a Venom stock might work with some relieving done for the larger compression tube of the NP2.

Sounds like a BS review to me.  Any manufacturer can have a lemon.  When a retailer checks a rifle out for you, then offers a replacement and you refuse a second one, that sounds fishy to me.  Either you're over picky or you didn't want the gun to succeed in the first place.

My thoughts are wait until it's out with multiple reviews and dis-assembly analysis from an advanced shooter/tinkerer before making any decisions.

Anybody know if they will fit the NP725 Trail XL if you can get the parts later?

Yeah the stock definitely looks kinda ugly-ish in pictures.  Might be nice up close though.  So far the only one I like is the camo synthetic NP2.

I saw a review on the yellow and the the guy could get even 800 fps with the gun using 14.3 gr pellets. The stated 900 fps with lead pellets is not even close to what the company claims. the mid 700 was all he got.

The review is bogus. The NP2 was just released 2 weeks ago. I also checked the site where he said he got the gun, they do not list an NP2.

Until I hear from people here with actual reviews here  are my 2 thoughts
   1) this has been way over hyped.
   2) it is an ugly gun

I still want one in camo synthetic.  Until at least a half dozen gta members have owned and posted about it, i am not gonna pass judgement.

Actually that was a very fair review, If we are talking about the same; Charlie in CT? And he got it from PA, in the first batch sent out to those who preordered. What is bogus about this?

BTW, I'm with Stonykill; overhyped and REALLY ugly

TK, the review is from England, in March. Not even shipped at the time of the review.

The guys at PA told me it was a calmed down benji xl with a somewhat of grt III trigger...Id rather spend my money on better quality if I can afford it

I bet it doesn't have near the swept volume or stroke of an xl.  Maybe same diameter tube and tha's probably it.

Edit- i am sure the linkage differs also, and there are probaly a few more things different about this model.

Ah different one. I saw that one too and wondered about it. Guy said the .177 was harder to cock? That didn't make alot of sense.... The one Charlie in CTdid was very non biased I thought
