Title: What do you guys think about this fill adapter?
Post by: Oldblades on May 22, 2014, 05:34:55 PM
Have the rifle now. Found a local established dive shop that will sell a new 80/3000 aluminum tank, all the certifications, and first fill free for 149.95. I explored all the variables to decide between scuba and CF, but the shop can only go up to 4000. So I'll opt for the scuba.

Now as far as the fill adapter goes, I'm still kinda lost. I know theres a bunch of info here in the searches, so I have an idea what I'm looking for, but not exactly.

Was looking at this one on ebay, but not sure about this. Has anyone bought one and/or have thoughts?

Was planning on the Ninja, but trying to find the adapter with the whip as a package seems to be less than simple. There also seems to be a Huge variance in prices.

One more question also. Dont those long whips waste a lot of air at disconnect? Or is it such a small amount that it should really be a non-issue?

i would recommend the ninja but i am sure you can guess why:)

i know the ninja is more expensive but if you have questions or something happens you can call or get a hold of us. look for a fill whip to add to it and check out any of the paintball websites as they will ahve both parts and can ship as 1 package.

part numbers - ninjascuba and microfillwhip

Ray, I was just reading about your fill station. I have a ultimate goal for 2 tanks in the shop so I'm not running so often. But your fill station tweaked my interest. Whats the latest on version 2?

i assume you mean for the 3000 psi output systems and still working on it. Every time we think we have it a better idea comes up!

I would say just get the ninja. I first bought one of the cheap one like that and I had trouble with it. It leak at the connection with the tank and the bleed valve would not seal well. Go the ninja and I have not had any problems in over a year.

I loved my Ninja, but I shot too much and sold it. I got a Great White and only have to fill one a week (only because I shoot weekends only). A freedom 8 will be next (If I can learn to say NO on some nice springers). If you do get a Ninja, along with a Freedom 8 you will be in business.

If a products works I'm glad to share that. I did modify mine and put a bigger gauge.

wow, big is an under statement!

Lol. I think is a most. Specially because the small gauges are inaccurate on guns. You should see the on my scba adapter. It is a 6in gauge with 1% error

finally someone who understands that the little gauges are inaccurate and the bigger the gauge the better.

the gauge we use on the hydro tester is a 3a mirror background accurate to .25%

to be honest you may find a better price on mcmaster carr or Granger?

they are $30.00 each from us but that does not include the adapter needed to put it on a scuba. the gauge has a 1/4 NPT male threads.

Seems like a fair price to me. What size, pressure and are they available in rear 1/8 NPT

Thanks
David

2.5 inch gauge
non liquid
6000 psi
they are somewhat sensitive so be careful
only with 1/4 npt male but an adapter for 1/4 to 1/8 is very common and easy to find.

Guys, this thread has provided more info than I had hoped for. So thanks for that.

And to Ray.........I'm new here but no stranger to shooting or involvement of other shooting forum websites. You obviously have a fine product that I am opting for.
But have to say that whenever a manufacturers rep becomes actively involved in a forum, such as this, shows confidence and passion for their product, not to mention customer support that is over the top.
So I applaud you for getting in the mix here.

forums just makes sense and this is where the real action is and lets us know how we are doing and solve any issues before they become big.

also allows us to get feed back quickly and use that to make things better.
