Title: Choice of a new purchase

I might be getting a little unexpected cash coming in and it would open up my possible choices for a new rifle. I've been looking at the Daisy 953 Target Pro because of its price, but might consider the Avanti 853CM instead.

I'd just like some opinions here. The price difference is for the LW barrel (and a nicer trigger, I'm guessing), but I'm not sure that's worth an extra $190 to me.

Whichever one I get will probably never be shot anywhere but in my own basement, and I just shoot for my own enjoyment and have no interest in competition.

What do you think?

  The CMP is still selling reconditioned 853's (http://thecmp.org/Sales/airrifles.htm).  Go ~1/3 of the way down the page, $115.00 TYD.    Those on the board who have purchased these seem to be happy with them.
