Thanks Mike, but you need to buy a subscription to that.

I did find where NRA members (I'm a lifetime member), are supposed to be able to access it for free here

http://blog.nugun.org/2009/05/12/nra-members-to-gain-access-to-blue-book-of-gun-values/ (http://blog.nugun.org/2009/05/12/nra-members-to-gain-access-to-blue-book-of-gun-values/)

BUT,... I don't see how to do that.
I click the link, but it no workie,... or I'm not doing it right.
(probably I'm not doing it right)

any NRA members here, know how to get this to work ?

The gun books are outdated the day they are printed. What to know what something is worth? Go to the auctions and classifieds to see what stuff is selling for. The books are useless. IMO Unless you have something that is really rare, it is just stuff. :-* :-[ :P 8) :D

Do you recommend gunbroker or other sites for looking up values?

Do you recommend gunbroker or other sites for looking up values?

I think those sites give you somewhat of an idea, but usually on the side of overpriced.

I sold a Norinco SKS that was retrofitted to take standard AK mags that I bought back in 2001. Per the advice of Dave and someone else here on the GTA I sold it on Gun Auction. I found the same SKS models listed for prices in the $700 to $800 dollar range  :o ::) :o ::) :o ::). Clearly that is high and outrageous in pricing but it gave me a base line in selling mine.

I put mine up for $550 buy it now and it was gone in 4 days  ;D.

What something is worth and what people pay are two different things. However, like mudduck48 said, unless you have something that is truly RARE, the value usually doesn't hold high.
