Title: How often should you lube a flat top piston & valve?
Post by: josixpack on May 13, 2014, 12:03:27 PM
I put an AC Custom Mods Flat Top Piston and Valve in my Crosman 2289g.

I have a few questions.

How often should I be lubing the seal?

Should I lube the Delrin sleeve??

Is Pelgun oil okay to use???

Thanks!

Pellgun oil is OK, the Delrin sleeve will get plenty from the seal.     And on the ones I made without a felt wiper I find best results with one drop oil every 50-100 shots.   The gun will start getting stiffer when it wants lube.

What Bart said.
I lube mine with straight 30wt, non detergent oil now but the Pellgun works well too. It's just a lot more expensive than a whole quart of straight 30wt. I bought it at Autozone and dispense it with a small bottle I had available.

X2---30wt non-detergent is great stuff, and it lasts darn near forever.

Will put my plug in for the lube I use and like.
