Hey guys!
There are some older posts on this topic and some air rifle shops have closed their doors etc. So what is the easiest way to get this rifle to shoot 43.2gr at 850fps? A higher flow valve? A heavier spring maybe 13 or 15lbs? Where would I get these parts now? Is this a good valve? http://www.ebay.com/itm/271466865347 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/271466865347) What about a Robert Lane regulator? http://www.ebay.com/itm/111326331608?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AI (http://www.ebay.com/itm/111326331608?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AI)

You first need to find out if your barrel likes them.... If they won't shoot well at present, I rather doubt that speeding the gun up will help much....
No idea who makes that valve or how it performs.... Generally speaking, regulators are good for low-medium power applications, not the 70 FPE you are after....

I ordered some pellets from PA and they will be here Thursday so i'll give them a run. In the mean time, if the gun shoots them well whats the best configuration to get me to 70fpe?

regulator is for longer shot strings and better use of air,, a hill valve is what i have in mine, a larger port and 13lb hammer spring that has mine at 912 fps with the eunjin 43.3 gr pellets ,i only get 8 power shots then it drops off a lot.the fpe is great with these pellets, as is the accuracy . and if you don't need all that power, then a regulator will give you a good bell curve, at a lesser power setting. all my adjustments are at max power, and i have no ping or bounce.if you want 70fpe with the 43.3gr eunjins[ then set your settings to max] and put a 10lb or 13lb hammer spring, and thats with your stock valve. ;D

You have exactly what I am looking to do with mine! One mag of full power shots... Is the hill valve an ebay purchase? Also what is the port opened to and where did you get your spring from? THANKS!
Edit: Maybe add a Transfer Port that has been modified to .156 I.D.???

I was able to shot the EJ 35.8 to about 63 fpe with a few mods on the valve. I call it conservative valve porting. I can easily in crease the power if I need to. The bad thing is that the EJ shot horrid.

Never found a gun that shot the 35gr any good, the 43gr However shot good out of several guns :)

I might have to try some of the 43s. I I have kept my mrod at 44fpe because that is the most efficient speed(880fpe) with JSB Kings which are the more accurate. After that are the HN cudas but group size doubles but they shot around 50-51 at the same setting as the JSBs.
I have just being looking for a pellet that shots well to power the mrod up. Until that happens I'll keep it as it is. I would love to get JSB to make a 30-35g pellet.

Does anyone know where I can get the springs from?
-
I ordered mine from msc direct

I'm checking the site now... Do you have a part number by chance?
-
Sorry, I do not have the part number.

one thing to remember that adding a heavier is spring will only increase you power but so much. you will need to port the valve, tport, barrel port and gauge block to get good power gains. check out my mrod build below.
I'm using a 12.5# spring with only 1 turn on the preload. I think both the 10# and 12.5# springs from MSC are easier/smoother to cock than the one that came with the gun
