I ordered the 753 Avanti rear sight, front sight w/weight and a 853/753 repair kit with CD from Daisy last week. The order was filled and delivered today lickety-split. :D
The three parts came to $58 and the postage added another $8.26 to the cost. My, as yet unanswered, question to Daisy is why was I charged $78.86 for this order. Does Daisy have a hidden handling fee or what? Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing with a Daisy parts order? ???

You have to ask on the phone how much each part is. That's what I did. If I remember the receipt doesn't even come with the prices. I would guess and say that sight kit alone is about $45+. Recall and ask as they are very helpful.

I did ask: $35+$10+$13 = $58+$8.26 postage = $64.26 NOT $78.86
Yes, they were most helpful with the order info and it shipped very timely and no, the receipt did not come with the package.

I think they may have charged you for two $13 items by mistake. It seems to be in the ballpark.

The $78 number was for authorization, the final charge was $73.70. Apparently, there is a 10% (+/-) handling fee? All things considered, I reckon that ain't too bad.

The last time I ordered from them 2 years ago, they didn't have a handling fee. What is a handling fee anyway? You'd think $10.00 would be enough to ship you your package. It's not like you ordered a T.V.! LOL

OG is the 753 Avanti front sight w/weight like the 853 one piece, and will it fit a 953?

They are slightly different heights to account for the different diopter rear sights.
So you need to change them out as a set.

The 753 front sight is taller than the 853 front sight. I don't know about fitting a 953.

The 753 & 953 barrel weight is the same. The 953 has a blade front sight, whereas the 753 has the globe front sight. The 853 has the front (globe) sight welded to the barrel weight, which is heavier than the 753/953 barrel weight.
All barrels are the same diameter, LW (753/853) or Daisy (953).

All square. I was quoted an erroneous price for part #5904 by $7.50. All is now right with the world.

Good catch Greg.

The 853's come with an assortment of front sight inserts. Apparently, 753 front sight part no. 5901 comes with only one sight insert? The 853 inserts will not work in the 753 sight....'cause I tried it.
