Would the HW80 with its right hand stock be to awkward for a left handed shooter ?

Probably would feel strange since it does not have the twin raised cheek swell. But you can make it work since alot of stocks do not have the twin swells.

Most right hand stocks I attempt to shoot are brutal and unworkable, especially bad with scopes. At the very least, you may have to shave down/off the curl of the comb until you can get your eye lined up with the scope, this may leave an uncomfortable edge that can be filled or padded with a variety of materials.
This is the reason I don't own a Pro Sport :(

I do own a Pro Sport Tom and that rifle is impossible for a lefty to shoot without some creative mods.
High comb that is very sharp. Great feel for righties tho.

I think the HW80 should feel fine for a lefty. I shoot an R7 set in an HW30 stock and it is comfortable. If you read the description of the rifle on the Straight Shooters website, they specifically mention "Slight right handed cheek piece may also be shot by left handed shooters".

Not at all. Im lefty and have never had a problem shooting righty HW stocks.

I'm a lefty and own a newer HW80 in .20 (from Pyramyd Air- 11/13). No problems at all with shooting/ shouldering this beautiful rifle and scope. I also have an older R1 (approx. 1987), it is also a right-hand stock. The older model stocks have more of an "edge" with a little discomfort, but not enough to stop me from enjoying it - still!

Thanks guy for all the info. , very helpful.

So long as it isn't a righthanded thumbhole stock...I'll shoot it. Us lefties are pretty flexible. I think we've evolved quite nicely ;) G'Luck2U !
