What do you get when you mix empty co2 powerlets, a straw, and a hanger?
-
A new spinner target! so easy to make.

Just wait a few minutes for the posts saying that this is very dangerous.

This is very dangerous as pellets can ricochet anywhere =)

We had a GTA fun shoot couple weeks back and had a few canisters hanging at 50 yards with orange tape around them. Tough and fun target.
Guess it would be cool if it's outside and at a good distance.
We had a blast with a set up like this!
Here is a pic of one.

Was thinking that very thought.

no one is allowed to have fun without someone putting somebodies eye out. it is like having the crazy old woman across the street calling the cops all the time . when I was a kid we did wild stuff no one got hurt. having fun today is either illegal or so watched over by the sky is falling in types that it is not worth it

I wouldn't say that this would be dangerous, but anytime you shoot at something that is round there is no way to know which way the pellet/bullet will fly. If it's far enough away it really doesn't matter. Safety first !

I have an indoor 20' range and 70yds back to the woods outside. I you get hit with a ricochet, maybe you should have read the "no treaspassing" sign. A passerby once herad the FD-PCP go off and flagged down a cop. The cop came to the house and pointed out a squirrel in the tree. After I shot the squirrel (on second try) he said we weren't doing anything wrong and told us to have a nice day. I wonder where the pellet goes after hitting those knock down resettable targets........ oh wait, they shoot those with powder burners too. I would hope that anyone shooting anything is aware of theur surroundings. Didn't take me long to figure out that steel bbs bounce like crazy when I heard one tink off of my harley that was sitting behind me. And that came off of wood.

I bet you were over checking your Harley out after the "PING". LOL

Don't see anything other than fun here as long as they are placed at a safe distance away.Cool idea 8)

I have pretty much the same set up, but first I squish the empty powerlets in a vice (not completely, just enough that it has a flat surface for pellet to hit), then run the wire through the "neck" of powerlet. You still have a rounded surface on the edges, but it does significantly reduce the amount of ricochets ;)

very cool setup. Perfectly safe in the correct location
-
you'll shoot your eye out ;)

Heck yeah, then I put it in the trailer and never shoot with it out now.

I get ricochets off of my perfectly flat spinners sometimes as well. It's the nature of the beast when you shoot a projectile at a hard surface sometime they "bounce". Thats why you don't shoot them from 5' away. Put them at a safe distance, use safety glasses and your good to go. I think its a great way to "recycle". I run a small flat head screw into the top, wrap some picture hanging wire around the screw and hang them in the trees like Christmas ornaments. Makes for great fun and challanging when you put them out past 25 yards. I vote thumbs up!
