Title: The best made plans of mice and air gunners. :(
Post by: Booger on April 25, 2014, 10:26:39 PM
The best made plans sometimes fall by the wayside. I bought an 18" .22 barrel and shroud for my Talon pistol. I did this because I like variety in my plinking. Everything went smooth (too smooth) installing it on my pistol. The gun was aired up and I began zeroing it. After about 4 shots it makes a weird sound, I looked at the gauge and the gun had exhausted most of the air. I aired it up again and it did the same thing. Oh man I just messed up my pistol. I put the original short barrel on and it did not miss a beat. Whew, must have been an incompatibility  problem. So I put the new barrel and shroud on the Condor and everything is fine, it loves JSB 25 grain pellets, likes CPHP & hates H&N FTT, will check more tomorrow. I then went to put the .25 24" barrel on the talon and find the shroud does not fit, now I need to order another shroud from R&L and sell the old shroud that was on the Condor. Oh well life goes on. Now I will not only be posting a pump, 90ci tank, but a shroud as well. I hate these costly mistakes.

why not leave the talon the way it was and just interchange the condor ,put the 18inch onthe condor with out shroud if noise is not a problem and keep the 24 inch barrel aside with the shroud otherwise get the shroud for 18inch but leave pistol way u had it ,that way u only mess with 1 ag instead of 2ags ,i see why touch something thats already great enough for buissness .....jorge

I got an 18" shroud as well. :) Turns out I will keep the 24" barrel and shroud for the condor when I feel like a change I will change it. I checked out the 24" barrel and it will not fit the pistol as well. I am just going to buy a .25 24" barrel and shroud from R&L for the Talon. I think the .22 was too small for the Direct flow of the talon.

I do understand that feeling of frustration except kinda in reverse. i finally found a 26" barrel for my disco and it arrives Smooth bored. Supplier looked at their stock and turns out they are all smooth bore but crosman said they were suppose to be rifled but since it is a discontinued item the was no return support for the barrels.

Now to ask for help. I really like the .25 24" barrel on my Condor, what do I need to do to keep the Talon pistol from dumping it's air when I put the .22 18" barrel on her? I really thought I had a good plan. On the plus side with the Condor 18" barrel she really likes the JSB .22 25 grain pellet as much as she the JSB .25 25 grain pellet. :)

I called in the Calvary in for help. I spoke to Randy at R&L and he said the following:

Let me check on what AirForce has done with their Escape TalonSS and see why they say it is not dumping air I will get back with you and make sure I do not forget to do so Sir.

It looks like things will be good soon. :) What I did not tell Randy was the 2nd time it dumped all the air my gauge on the pistol's tank bit the big one.  :'(
