Title: Marauder fill pressures from factory?
Post by: atvkilla1 on April 21, 2014, 03:08:11 PM
I just received my new remanufactured Marauder .22 from RL Airgun and started to mess with the tune a bit. I really don't know what I'm doing and have read a bunch of articles and the A team guide, etc.

One thing I've read is they come with certain "manufacturer" settings but I have no idea if this gun's settings were completely different since it's a refurb. I also see things about Marauders have different factory fill pressures? Is there any way to determine my factory fill pressure or is the fill pressure entirely dependent on stroke and hammer spring settings? Just wondering if there are benefits to lower fill pressures and if it's still possible to obtain 30 shot strings at 850ish fps speeds. Is there a way to determine optimal fill pressure?

Follow the a-team guide. It sets the springs way out, and you go from there. It's a good way to get to a "default" setting.

I have mine tuned just like you described - 30 shots in the 850fps range (jsb 18.1's), and the a-team method was really easy. It goes from 3000 to about 2100 in 30 shots. I didn't want the "2500psi" settings because my ninja tank has a 2900psi regulator, super easy to fill it all the way up.

The "max fill" setting is determined by the power curve achieved when running a full fill down.

DITTO

I tried to follow the Crosman BLOG.
Now, my .177 starting at 3000psi gets 40 shots and stops at 2050ish psi.
