Title: FWB 124 Sporter expectations?
Post by: Flatcar1 on April 18, 2014, 01:17:05 PM
Just picked up a FWB 124 in .177 at a garage sale for $40 for a project gun. This is my first FWB and would like to know what kind of FPS I should be looking for once I replace the seal and tune her up. By the serial number, I am thinking she is at least 40 years old. She has been well taken care of but has been used a lot, by the finish being rubbed off in all the normal areas.

DO WHAT? SURELY YOU ARE KIDDING ME... wanna triple you money? give me paypal address. expect low to mid 800 fps with 7.9-8.4s and likely the most accurate break barrel you have ever laid eyes upon.

It is a Beeman import, serial number 127xx, with the San Rafael Cal. stamped on the barrel.

+1! ;D  My dad has a 124, and it is the sweetest shooting air rifle I've ever shot.  His does mid-800's, and is a 5 shot one-hole shooter at 25 yards, all day long, with the Crosman cardboard box 7.9 Premiers.  He recently replaced the spring and seal with a set from Jim Maccari.  Good luck with yours! 8)
