I wanted a rifle with adjustable power and reasonable. Another thing I needed was low effort pumping due to a artificial shoulder and somewhat accurate. My other rifles are either CO2 or PCP. I low noise and accurate low power settings when needed. If I can not get to the range, I am limited to 7 yards on my back covered patio.
So this afternoon, I fired her up. Using 3 pumps and CPHP pellets it fired great 5 shot groups. I then tried 10 pumps and using a can top, that only my Marauder had pierced, the 880 went right through it.
I tried some Daisy wad cutters, and the grouping moved left by an inch and opened more than double the size of the other pellets. Loaded up the CPHP and it tightened back where it was.
The 880 I got was the one carried by Basspro, it is all black. I put a better 4x32 scope on it for this shooting spree. I paid a little more for it, but I was able to check the fit, which for me is not always easy.
Overall, I think it is a great rifle for what I wanted.
