Having less than nimble arthritic fingers, loading pellets into the 880 with a scope is a PITA. It seems like they always had a tendency to end up backwards so I had to dump it out and start again. Finally I found a way that works well for me -- just pick up the pellet with a pair of everyday large tweezers and set it into the breech in the proper position. So simple and I just keep my tweezers in my shirt pocket. It also makes it easier to pick up a pellet from the tin without pushing them all over while trying to get one out.

Yep, we keep 2 or 3 pairs of tweezers in our ammo boxes. Also a straight lock pick tool to flip it if it does get backwards.
-
;) So that's what I am doing wrong and here I thought the breech was designed to feed the pellets backwards ;D ;D

Glad to find out I am not alone in this.

I have no trouble just laying the pellet in the plastic slot to the right of the breech and then sliding it into place. As long as the barrel is aimed down it slides into place no trouble.

First I'm going to plug the bb loading opening. Already had two pellets fall into it. Then going with tweezers.

I'd like to see how you do this. Mine fall in every time. Sometimes two to three times per load. I've been pushing the bolt forward a little bit to try to block the gap.

+1 This makes all the difference in the world!!

I find the problem to be more pronounced with pointed pellets or other types that are not "nose heavy". Round nose pellets reliably load into the breech. This form is also the most accurate in all of my guns.
I too have found that sliding the pellet across the feed floor to be the best loading method.
YMMV

I slide mine in too, works pretty good.
I wish the 880 had the same 5 shot self indexing clip the 953 has.( load the clip, put it in flush, close the bolt. Every time you cock the bolt, it indexes the clip to the next shot)
Or the slide out single shot tray..
But it is what it is, and we adapt...

Maybe the Mod Godz will hear your cries and make it the next repeater project.

Yeah I have problems some times too. But when I point the gun down and slide it in quick it usually works ok. But what I like on most Crosman's breeches (13xx, Disco, 66, etc) it's open on both sides without that wall beside the slot like on the Daisy's. Seems to help me a lot.

At least it's not as bad as the 2100. Basically that thing has a hole, you just drop the pellet in and hope for the best. It definitely takes my coat hanger poker to position it right.

I know it is more expensive than a coat hanger, but they can be found online for $5
This is what I use.
As painful as it sounds it is called a retractable nipple pick...
It has a very fine and strong wire that extends out to help seat the pellets.

Just woke up not long ago, was having coffee and browsing the GTA forum as I usually do in the mornings. Generally I just kind of hang around in my jeans or sleeping pants until time for shower and work. After reading this post, I immediately went and put a shirt on. Thanks for sharing.
