I like mine a lot. I've only used it outside. Good product. I also have the puter link for it. Price is decent with the free shp'g & very good seller feedback.

Yep, same setup here with the usb link to the laptop. I use it outside with reasonable sun and inside with 60 watt flood light about 4' above it. Works great. Still on the first battery and my best guess is that it's been on for a collective 10 hours. I've ordered a "clip" that holds 6 AA batteries and fits into the slot and plugs to the 9v connection. It's supposed to tremendously increase battery life. I made a mistake and posted that the cable was 10'... it's actually 20'. That doesn't matter much to me, I shoot with the muzzle 6 to 12 inches from it which also reduces the odds of me shooting it.

Must be good 'cause I just placed that exact order this afternoon :)

Actually I selected it based on reading a lot of comments and reviews on GTA and other locations.  This will be my first chronograph.

what sold me on the Prochrony was the large shooting area....

there is an I shot the Chrony thread onhere and several other stories about people shooting their chronys.....

THAT sounds exactly like something I would do...

when I went looking for a chrony I looked for the Largest Acceptable margin of SHOOTER error and paid the extra over the cost of the others as insurance...of the 3 chronys I have seen in person the Prochrony shooting window is something like 6 or 8" taller

After five Shooting Chronys I purchased a Competition Electronics Pro Digital and couldn't be more pleased with its ease of use, quality components, shot storage volume and function in all lighting situations.

Good price, light.... I wrote down a super fast comparison of the 5 brands (types) chronographs I have or had.

Btw- A wonderful chrony just about to start shipping is the Magneto Speed V3. (I use a magneto speed V2 now, but the V2 can not measure pellets-have a V3 on order). On my rifles (powder) they read regardless of weather or light and can be attached in seconds unlike the pain in the :;-? tripod chrony. They are a bit more expensive, but no need to buy a tripod or lighting kit.

I currently have a pro chrony and the v2 with the v3 coming.

Have owned: fast overview

Ohler 35p:
Good- two sets of photo eyes one of the best, remote display/printer
Bad - EXPENSIVE $350 + two tripods (up to $600 fully setup) - super heavy and long setup

SuperChrono (new acustic chronograph)
Good - can measure down range velocity, tiny and light
Bad - Cost $380ish, needs super sonic velocity, not remote display

Shooting chrony
Good- remote display
Bad- light sensitivity to clouds and bad reads do to others muzzle blasts etc.

Magneto speed
Good- small, accurate, light, can be used at night/all weather, fast setup, remote display
Bad -  cost $400 for V3, can not mount to some fire arms (semi-auto pistols) v2 not yet pellet friendly

Pro chrony
Good- price, light, extra battery storage
Bad- archive data can be lost, no remote display, cheaply made, need extra lights often

has anyone tried this one?

looks like the kit comes with a tripod and led light kit and can look up to an i phone or most androids.

Same deal. I think a comment by avator eventually pushed me over the edge.
My (thankfully few) days of "ear tuning" are finally over.

Mine arrived yesterday, have not had a chance to try it.

Packing material in box was pretty slack - Amazon usually packs better.   Thin plastic faceplate/label was off and loose in box. It just slides under bezel, so not hard to fix... Hope that's the only issue.

I read somewhere that Prochrono will rebuild your chronograph for half price even if you did shoot it in the head. Can anyone back me up on that??

They sure will and they are made here in the US.  I have a Pro Chrony and love it I use it with the Light kit they offer indoors and Have never had a miss read.  I had one of these metal foldy  master baiter ones and hated it, I got soo perturbed at it one day I emptied 5 .38 Hand loads in to it to put it out of its misery.

After owning five of the "metal foldy" ones and couldn't agree more.  Digital Electronics Pro Chrono all the way...

Got a chance play with the Competition Electronics Prochrono Digital Chronograph yesterday evening.  I used 2 of these flashlights from Harbor Freight: http://www.harborfreight.com/27-led-portable-worklight-flashlight-67227.html (http://www.harborfreight.com/27-led-portable-worklight-flashlight-67227.html) to illuminate the photocells.  I attached them to the underside of the diffusers by placing a hard drive magnet on top of the diffuser.  I tried just resting the lights on top of the diffusers as I had read, but I just got the ERR indication doing that.

I finally got the Caldwell Chronograph after a month wait. It works great. The iPhone app is just plain wonderful to use.

I like mine too.
With that said, I just today, tried to hook up the Dongle to my ultrabook. Windows 8.1 would not show drivers. I contacted ProChrony and they told me Windows 8.1 would see and install, no joy.

Be Well,
Gator
