Title: Question about Beeman R1
Post by: scooterman on April 03, 2014, 11:13:10 PM
Have a Beeman R1 Laser model that I am trying to put a pg2 kit in.  I say trying because after installing kit I could not get gun to cock.  Searching the forum I see that the piston has a steel liner.  I was wanting to know if even these older R1's had the steel liner?  If so how do you get the liner out?

Yes the r1's have a liner even the old ones.  Usauly you can get a small screw driver in through the cocking slot and work the liner out.  Try working it under the liner in the front of the milled slot in the piston the cocking shoe rides in once you get it sticking out a little grab it with a pair of needle nose pliers and pull out.

Thanks, I'll give that a try and take the liner out and see if it will cock.

Got the pg2 kit in and it works, even got to fire a few pellets before the rains came.  What a difference, gone from a rattle your teeth harsh firing cycle to very smooth and quiet.
