Title: I want to get a pistol but which one?
Post by: f266 on April 02, 2014, 04:27:37 PM
Sorry for all the newbie questions, I am new.

What is the difference between the 1322 and the 2289g beside the pump handle?
Why do people get the 1377 and mod it into .22 when they could have gotten the 1322?
I like the pump handle on the 2289g, but what is up with no handle grips?
What is a steel breech? I see it comes with the 1377 Morning Play Pack.
So, what would be the best deal in terms of price, Morning Pack, Backpacker, or 1322 Premier Shooters Kit?

The 2289g also comes with a 12 inch barrel, and a different barrel band.  Further it does NOT come with pistol grips, instead it comes with a quick detach stock.

Even though the .22 cal version came first (in the form of the 130, and later the 1322), there was a time that the .22 cal version was not available.  I believe it was just reintroduced in 2012 (or was it 2010?).

It is meant for use as a carbine.  The stock that comes with it is quick disconnect.   You can order pistol grips from Crosman, just order the 1322 grips the screw holes are there.

The 1377, 1322, and 2289 come with a plastic breach that has no mounting rails.  The steel breach is a breach made of steel that has mounting rails and helps to better stabilize the barrel.   It can be purchased separately from many venders.

I personally would recommend the 2289G in the Crosman Doomsday Bug out Kit.   Though there are varying opinions.   I guess it depends on what you want and what you are going to use it for.

In terms of price it depends on what you want.

The Crosman 2289G is the best if you want a stock.

Either the Crosman 1322 Afternoon Play Pack or the Crosman 1377 Morning Play Pack is likely the best if you want the steel breech and the stock, and it comes with the pistol grips.

i'll recommend the DBOkit/2289 . with the steel breech , unless you'll only use the stock sights .

In my case both of the 1377 I picked up where used  one for 60 dollars and came with a used 2100b those two together are now .25 1325XLT,

I then picked up another for 25 dollars ( thanks Warren)  and I just crossed it with a 30$ clearance  66/664 and they made a 1322MLT,

I picked up my 1322 on sale for 40$ it is still a 1322... ;)

Hi There and Welcome   :D
Nobody mentioned the Crosman custom shop, you can order a pistol or a carbine to suit your needs or wants and to some extent control the price.
the customs come with things the stock guns do not a steel breech, adjustable trigger with a stop, molding seams removed from the frame.
Remember that with these guns any time a pistol can become a carbine and vice versa by adding the stock or using grips
These are CO2 powered and you ask about the pumpers but I recommend looking anyway it will give you some info as to what is available.
Most of the items are available from Crosman at very reasonable prices. much better than you will find on Fleabay or Amazon.
There special parts available from other shops, many are members here.
