Title: Crosman 1077 picked up in trade, what can I do with this?
Post by: Donewiththis on April 02, 2014, 04:46:22 AM
Let me start by saying that airguns are a cool hobby in any flavor.    If the 1077 is your favorite, I by no means want to offend you.    With that said, I picked up a used Crosman 1077 in a "private party" trade type deal.   I didn't really want it, but the trade-value amounts were coming out so close, but just slightly off.   I don't have any regrets on the deal (I got what I was after), but I ended up with a 1077 with a bit of minor rust on the barrel.   It has an old Crosman "Copperhead" red dot on it.   I put a new battery in the dot, and the dot works.  I bought some CO2 cartridges, and tried it out.   Shoots fine, but this isn't really my "cup of tea".    Basically, not enough power and not enough accuracy to be underpowered.    These guns cool (I suppose) but they just arn't for me in the current offering.     I read somewhere about adapters that allow this rifle to accept large alternative air sources, but that simply allows the shooter to shoot for longer periods of time.    So, before I retire this rifle to the far left end of the "never used" section of my rack, please tell me that it has some practical use, or is sought after by collectors in China, or otherwise possess attributes that I'm not aware of.   The serial number starts with 601, so I believe that means it was made in June 2001.   I suppose I can just keep it as "trade boot" in the event that I find myself on the low side of a trade deal, and need to kick-in a little more.  Thanks for any feedback.

I used to have one and to be honest it was a pretty fun gun,the trigger pull was something like 12lbs??lol Im sure for some $$ you can make more power by adding bulk fill adaptors etc,the entire gun is plastic and about the only metal part literally is the barrel...So you want to ask yourself....hmmm   8) the gun is fun though for up close yardwork

If I'm going to carry a cylinder, I'll be SCUBA Diving or it's going to be a flame thrower.

The barrel stabilizer does help with accuracy.  There are some mods that I have not done that seem to help a little.

Fun gun but will never be a one hole target or long range pester.
