Title: JSB .25 Pellets
Post by: Unclebuck1234 on March 20, 2014, 08:25:15 PM
I just received an order of 4200 (12 tins), of JSB Exact King .25 cal, 25.39 gr, pellets. upon opening the tin, which no longer has the red tape around the seam, I immediately noticed that the pellets are different than the ones I've bought in the past. Specifically, the skirt no longer is thinly flared.  It appears that JSP has deleted a step in the manufacturing process they previously used. Whether this was done to save time on manufacturing or it was done to improve accuracy, I do not know.  Externally the two pellets appear identical from what I can see. I have not a chance to shoot any of these new pellets through any of my .25 cal air guns, so I can't say if they group better or worse than ones I've used in the past. The JSB Exact King .25 seems to be the gold standard of .25 cal pellets, so I hope this change doesn't effect accuracy. Especially since I now own 4200 of them :o.

Pellet on right is old style, the one on the left is from one of the tins which arrived today.

Yep new dies. See how they shoot and if you need a scope adjustment. I like the skirts a little thicker.

Just opened the box I got today almost dumped them on the floor because the lid was stuck in the foam. Lucky I was being careful. And yes the skirts look different then my last tin. Looks like the bevel is there but a burr is rolled over the edge.

I found the AA pellets shoot just as well as the JSBs and you save a $1 a tin. I usually like them both.

AA's are not available now for some reason. I have 2 tins of them here.

I'm really interested to see if these shoot any different.  I like the idea of the thicker skirt but I hope it doesn't affect accuracy.

The one on the left looks to be of better quality. JSB/AA are my favorite pellets, I have had great luck with H&N FTT on the .22 & .177 as a second favorite.

Edgun, FX, AA, and a few others just have their dies at JSB who makes all of these pellets and then labels them for gun vendors.

I just got 12 tins this past Thursday also. I haven't had a chance to shoot any. Definitely going to be interesting to see if they shoot any different.
