I just couldn't resist. I wanted an Evanix Bull Pup, but got a Sam Yang. Pyramid Air just had to send me a 10% off coupon. I really like the power of what is stated from Sam Yang, and if all else fails I can send it in for a tune. So here is what I ordered:
Sam Yang Recluse 500cc Air Rifle, 9mm / 0.357", PY-2510-5008 $699.95
10-for-$10 Test! PY-S-1 $10.00
Quick-Disconnect Male Fitting + O-Ring PY-A-2841 $19.99 (I got this to make my MROD and Talon fill systems the same).
Air Venturi .356 Cal, 105 Grains, Flat Point, 100ct PY-P-964 $19.95
Not only did I get 10% off, but I $50 off using my bulls eye bucks. I will order some more JSB pellets, but I used my credit card to get this and tomorrow I will pay my credit card off. I just might pick up another tank (Great White). Now I need advice from the Pirate. :)

Congrats ! And I thot .25 ammo was getting spendy.
-
I was considering a Sam Yang myself. Let me know what you think?
-
I have a Hill pump, Benjamin pump, Ninja 90 ci tank, and today I just bought a Great White. I see pellets flying down range. :)
-
Congrats on the new gun, I know you've been debating on what to get while that cash was burning holes in your pockets. ;D

Thank you. I decided to go with power and a new air tank. This way I can retire my Hill & Benjamin pumps. Maybe more $$$ for more guns or a Freedom 8. :)
-
Congrats. Can you please post a review of your Recluse, trigger, accuracy, pellets/slugs used, etc. when you start shooting it, and a 5-10 shot Chrono string?
Thanks,
Harry

Shot No. 5: 809 fps
Shot No. 6: 740 fps
Shot No. 7: 655 fps
Shot No. 8: 579 fps
Shot No. 9: 484 fps
Shot No. 10: 365 fps
Our tech department also tested this gun with a 77.8-grain Eun Jin pellet (gun filled to 3000 psi):
Shot No. 1: 952 fps

So, what does that work out to from my 100cf 3300psi tank..... maybe 100 shots? WOW !!!!

Those look like the numbers from the single tube right ?
-
the trigger is going to shock you
For the good or bad?
-
BAD, Will can make them nice, but they are pretty heavy out the box
-

Not sure, it's what PA had posted on the website.
-
I just checked, yes the single tube.
Total different shot count that the 500cc
-
Yep, you're right, I see the difference now.
-
Not to steal the thread but, you all may find the humor.... I repurposed a baby stroller for a tank cart. Betty Lou asked me if it was going to be sturdy enough once the tank was full of air....... Still shaking my head.

Paul B tuned my MRODS & my 1701P, he did wonders on the trigger and tune. I might call him because Will has such a long wait time.

I must confess I am getting worried about the trigger. I am a trigger snob. I just bought 6 additional tins of 9mm pellets and now I am scared the rifle I picked might not be the one for me. All I can do at this point is hope that the trigger and accuracy is acceptable and if not I hope PA will let me exchange it for another rifle and pellets. I am keeping my new crony.
On another note I bought a Great White full armor tank, they were told me the tank was really the same size as an 88, but had better parts. They do nickle and dime you though. I could have gotten the same size tank from PA for $699 so I decided to go full armor for $777 (only $78 more for cover and feet), by the time I got through it was $918.48 because it did not include gauges, something else, 3% for using a credit/debit card and shipping. I will also give a report on the tank. Right now if I had to do it again (before I have seen the actual tank), I think PA would be the better way to go.

LMBO, that's like the old joke; "What's a pound of feathers weigh?" :D

No wait... it just got better... I had the tank filled tonight. When we got home I took it out of the Jeep and was rolling it around to the back of the house. A wheel broke on the stoller and Betty Lou said " I told you" You gotta be kidding me.

She may not always be right, but she is always the boss. :)

FYI, the cover cost me about $10 retail (local SCUBA shop). The feet are about $20 off eBay. I bought both because the used 75 CuFt fill station I got (Omega) didn't come with. Was a used setup off eBay. Originally from AOA. New I think it's like $600. No second gauge though and need to buy a $25 BSPP Foster.

Also I did note this:

Quality is always a factor in a review. If the quality is there, it is worth the extra dollars. I always give fair and accurate reviews to the best of my abilities. This is no exception.

The gun is super accurate, but if you're a trigger snob you'll be in for a shock

Typing this on my phone so forgive me if the tone doesnt come across right. Tend to sound short because I hate using the onscreen keyboard.
Don't get me wrong... I would have loved to get the second gauge option and strain reliefs that Joe B. offers! Quality does cost more as you said. Same reason we buy JSB pellets right? Same reason I won't buy no name foster fittings! The cover and feet were not safety issues so I just went with most convenient. :-D
I really don't have anything to compare to in terms of quality. I've read more than one rave about Joe B equipment. Quality is likely there, but the CuFt calculations rub me the wrong way.
-
The CuFt calculations did not bother me at all. I simply stated "your tanks are bigger than PA", Then he told me they are the same size, they just calculate the same way as (another company I will not deal with) does it. After he told me that I had no problem.
As a side note I had heard he advertised larger tanks and that was the reason for my statement to check up front honesty If he had told me "yes they are" I would have hung up the phone.

Yeah Jesse, when using low power you really want to start 150 maybe 160 BAR
-
Yeah Jesse, when using low power you really want to start 150 maybe 160 BAR
I was thinking 175 bar and I really like the low power shot count and power.
-
Yeah, 170 will give you quite a nice bell curve, 150 more a down slope
that low power feature on those rifles is pretty cool, you should get pretty good velocity and good shot count with the Roundball or JSB pellets
