Sorry for being such a newb, But are there .22 caliber match competitions?
My Google search didnt yield much.
I realize.177 is a bit more accurate and seems to be the standard for competitions.
Anyone have a link to .22 matches?

Are you talking about live in person matches? If you are,
you are right, any clubs shooting air rifles or pistols will be .177 only.
(they might let you shoot, but not allow your scores, just to be sociable)
Field target you can use .22 but most have foot pound limits, and most still use
.177 due to the flatter trajectory.
The forum here has matches and you can shoot your .22 I have a 2250XT that is an
excellent short range shooter and have used it here.
Nothing like shooting a live match though, should you ever get the opportunity, I hope
you take it.
Here is a link to a current match here on the forum, your welcome to give it a try.

.22 cal in a match is just fine so long as POWER is within class your shooting.
In bench rest for instance gun will be classed on propulsion means ... Spring or PCP generally.
Power will be Light Varmint being Sub 12# / Heavy Varmint being Sub 20# / Unlimited generally Sub 35#
Sportsman class's generally will follow the same power breakdown.
In Field Target ... EVERY CLASS is regulated to a MAXIMUM of 20# power but still sub classes of type rifle and shooting discipline break it down further.

FT:
While .17 is preferred for FT, I have seen people use a .22 quite effectively. As long as it is below 20ftlbs I would not let caliber choice dissuade me from competing. Will you win with .22? Probably not. Will you be able to go out and shoot a match, have fun, and see if you like target shooting? Most emphatically, YES!!!
As far as FT goes, if your .22 is over 20ftlbs, ask around talk to someone and they will find a rifle for you to borrow. I have not met anyone at a FT match that would not at least try to help. FT shooters by and large are looking for more people to come out. They will be encouraging regardless of your equipment.
Silhouette:
I know Diablo has a 20ftlbs limit, but I think most clubs are open. It is a fun game. Not quite as dynamic as FT since there are 4 fixed distances, but I shoot the whole match standing offhand (like it is supposed to be shot hehehehe not benchrest varmint baloney) and that is fun all in itself. I get the impression from the Sil's guys (many of whom also shoot FT) that they would find you a rig to borrow given adequate time as well.
Postal Matches:
Most GTA postal matches have some provision for .22. These are the most INCLUSIVE postal matches I have ever seen.
AirGunners are a pretty nice and resourceful group. Someone will gladly let you borrow a rifle and they will be proud to do it.
I hope you find a competitive outlet.
-Good shooting.

Hi,
In The Netherlands competions at 100m/110 yards are being organised since 2008. Also .22 rifles are used during that matches:
