So I got my brand new discovery in the mail today and it will not hold air it is coming strait out of the barrel as I pump so I tried cocking it and filling it same deal. My brother says it must be something with the valve. Any advice?

try dry firing it a few times and then clock the gun and start pumping.

Tried dry firing it and then cocking it to fill no dice.

You definitely want the rifle cocked. The hammer resting against the valve can cause it to leak when there is no air pressure. I have had this problem several times, I use a quick burst of air from my scuba tank to get the pressure up to about 500 PSI and then the valve seats and it can be filled normally. Once the valve seats it shouldn't see this problem again as long as you leave some air in it. You might be able to cork the barrel so you have a sealed system until the valve seats.

Yeah I have no scuba tank my neighbor has a 120psi air compressor.

that might do it just to get you some pressure in the tube if there is none now.

Ok I double checked after all that and it is not leaking out of the barrel anymore but the pressure gauge so I take it of and no Teflon
tape to seal it.
-
Any hardware store sells teflon tape, yellow for gas is preferred, but white works in a pinch.

On the Disco there should be a O ring under the gauge. Without that O ring in the air gauge block you can put all the Teflon you want on the gauge and it will leak. Possibly not today but before long it will begin to leak without that O ring

The o-ring is there but with the tape it seems to be holding air now.
