OK. Yesterday I couldn't log in. Did the help email thing and reset my password. Logged in, everything fine and, hey, I'm back up to 2300+ posts. Today, could not log in. Tried the email help link and no go. Did have a personal message notification, used the email link to respond to that and was able to log in. Go figure. Then looked for my last post from yesterday. Couldn't find it. I go to my profile and it says I've had about 30/40 posts. See there's now a tool bar link to the old GTA. Go to that section and there's yesterday's post. Also noticed current activity on the various sub-forums.
So, how many GTA's are there? Is the old one still meant to be active? Left brain/right brain? Where do you post classifieds, both? Hopefully, I will be able to find my way back here to look for answers after I've logged off!

I'm no expert Red !
But I also have been redirected to the Old GTA Forum, and I believe it is being re conformed to be able to add it to the New GTA .Org !
So right now, there are two GTA's, and you should post here at the New GTA, .Org.
If I were you, I would either change you Favorites, or add our new address to your Favorites list.
I hope this makes sense ! I was confused myself, until I checked the address.

Bill, I tried coming here through Brad's page, as I have always done. The only way I can get back in is to use the pm emailed link. I can't access it through the screen which offers the old or new links.

Guys please understand that the old GTA is only there for viewing and research. There will be no new posting nor will there be any new registrations. The conversion to new data base did NOT work with user accounts. It kept the emails in tacked though. If you try and login more than likely it may not recognize either your user name nor password. BUT you have the option of clicking on lost username or password link. Then you can use that to re- register you account via email.

Red, as Gene said, there are two forums right now. The old original GTA is here. http://www.gatewaytoairguns.com/airguns/index.php (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.com/airguns/index.php)
I would bookmark this one in your Internet Explorer and label it GTA Old or GTA.com. You SHOULD be able to use your old username/password to get on there. If your password isn't working, just click on the message that says have your password sent to your email. BE SURE to use the email address you registered with on the ORIGINAL site. Once you get the message in email, you can log onto the old site to view and research only. No new posting and noone will be allowed to join the old site as a new member.
You apparently are getting on the new site okay, since you're posting this message. ;D
Gene brought the old site back up and made it available for us to view and reference if there was something on there we needed. They are in the process of moving all the posts and info over to THIS site. And as soon as the transfer is successful, Gene will once again shut the old site down for good.
For now, just log on here and post away. If you need to look for some old info, open up the old site link above and search. Hope this helps. If not, let us know.
Happy Shooting!!!!

Here's how I "sneak in the backdoor" - I've bookmarked the link to responding to the personal message I received via email. That gets me to a light tan log in page which then takes me to the new forum. If I use a direct link to the GTA, which is the one from Brad Toyer's links page, I get directly to the new forum but then cannot log in. It recognizes me in one place, but not the next. (Kind of like my teenagers, when you come to think of it.)
BTW, Gene, I thought I saw a new post in the old Airgun Gate.

remember its actually a lot easier then all this LOL
New site is www.gatewaytoairguns.ORG (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.ORG)
old site is www.gatewaytoairguns.COM (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.COM)
thats all you have to remember bookmark each site and your good to go

Aaahhh, okay Red, I just verified what you're saying. The reasoin I couldn't see it was that I've logged in and selected to STAY logged in forever. So, when I come back, I'm already logged in. :)
I just typed in the address to the new site and it takes me to the page you refered to. You have the option of going to the new or old site. BUT, if you select the new site, you get stuck in a loop. You come back to the same make a choice page. You can never get to the new site. The URL needs to be changed Gene, to the actual home page or the forum page.
Red, bookmark THIS address to log in to. http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?action=forum (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?action=forum)
See if that works.
And try THIS one for the old site. http://www.gatewaytoairguns.com/airguns/ (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.com/airguns/)
Let us know if that works for you.

Dave,
Just tried what you said, and yeah, stuck in a loop.
Wondering why I haven't had Red's problem, I checked what the listing is in my Internet Explorer favorites and it's exactly the link you say to use.
Guess I got the good link on day-one !
Paul.
