Title: HW35E
Post by: hangmancreek on February 23, 2014, 12:27:36 PM
Can someone tell me if the current HW35E stock is ambidextrous?   Although I'm normally right hand & eye dominant, I need to shoot iron sights left handed.  I haven't been able to find any pictures or description of this stock.

The current production HW35E's stock is not ambidextrous.  The cheekpiece is on the left side of the buttstock,  for right-handed shooters.
However,  the rest of the stock and action are suitable for right or left-handed shooters with the exception of the safety button.  The safety button pops out on the left side of the receiver when cocked.  It must be pushed to the right side to be fired.
God Bless,
Scott

Thanks Scott,

I was afraid you were going to say that.   It's a stock designed for iron sights and I need to shoot them lefty.  I wonder if older models were ambidextrous?

I don't think you will find an "E" model that doesn't have a cheekpiece as it is the fancier model. The cheekpiece on some of the older E's is not very pronounced and might be suitable. You can find old plain jane HW35s that are ambidextrous but the newer ones are not. My thumbhole stocked HW35 is ambidextrous too but they are a little harder to find.
