Post by: jeff76 on February 22, 2014, 12:21:04 PM
can someone please explain how exactly to use a compressor to boost a hill pump.  pictures would be nice. I suppose a pictorial is what im asking for. or even better a video of you doing it.

what adapters/connectors do I need. ect

at least a link. google is not my friend today

I don't think it's a boost friendly design without fabbing a secured adapter.
The collar is just slipped on, only secured by o-ring pressure, allowing pressurized air to blow by them.

fill probes are only secured by orings too, and they withstand 3000psi +

They're using Benji pumps, which use a inlet filter on a 1/4 NPT threaded nipple screwed into the base, so they can use off the shelf pneumatic fittings.

Maybe larger, tighter fitting o-rings will allow us to do it?

Short answer is, basically, just remove the moisture filter from the collar (including 90* elbow), screw a 1/4" NPT male Foster fitting in it's place and connect your output hose from compressor to it...done ;). Try to use as small a compressor as possible (like a 2 gallon "pancake" style) and set your output pressure to around 25psi to start...you can increase or decrease pressure depending on how it "feels". I tried it with an 8 gallon reservoir compressor and it was a brute to pump the last 500psi (3000 psi fill).

It's a bit of a long read, but still good info: http://www.airgunforum.ca/forums/topic53049.html (http://www.airgunforum.ca/forums/topic53049.html)

Hope this helps!
