OK, i bought the Syn-Rod from RL airgun supplies. this was a refurbished unit. other than the fact that it had a sticker, and 2600 psi in it when it showed up, i can't tell.
out of the box, i mounted scope, grabbed the pump, and topped it up to 3k. shooting 10.5 CPH pellets it easilly zero'd in 5 shots. 2 shots 3 inches high and left. fast adjustment, 1/2 inch high. one more adjustment, dead on.
factory settings, the 10.5 CPH was about 820 fps. i removed stock, followed instructions, and got it shooting 958/959 (was aiming for 960 just to see, and voila, hit it or at least close enough). mounted stock back, and re checked zero. shifted 1/2 inch left. adjusted scope. rechecked all screws. and started having fun.
getting roughly 30 shots, from 3k to 2400 psi. 30-35 pumps on benji pump to top it back off. (10 of those pumps are just to build pressure in the pump). shooting a half dime sized one hole group at 20 yds. have not touched lawyer spring, or even gotten a good rest, and its very breezy out side right now. probably 15 mph crosswind.
i do believe, i have screwed up.. its like a lays potato chip... bet you can't have just one...

I can't see why it it that ppl think that they need 2 million of these things .....THAT ALL DO THE SAME THING ?????
-
just put about 200 pellets through it. had to make some small adjustments to the front barrel ring because it was touching on one side. quick scope adjustment after that. already claimed a HOSP! and pretty dang far out too! (like 55 yds).

Plus - " Dime size hole in one @ 20 yards" Dude, you need to stretch that waaaaaay out. See what its doing @ 80 to 120 yards THEN start talkin !! ANYTHING will do that @ 20 yards !!!
-
i must remind you. i am used to a Nitro piston springer... while its extremely accurate, its hard to shoot. also its Louder than this thing. i will stretch her legs this weekend!!!
oh also,
shooting offhand at 20 yds...
and i believe i said "half" dime sized....

errr...I think you're looking for that word spelled as 'waste'...but IFF one is fine for you, then by all means, suffer having just one. I will suggest not going to far with the folks who prefer several.
cheers,

Not sure how long you have been around airguns and how many you have actually owned/held/shot but not EVERY airgun can dime or sub-dime @ 20 yards. And what Ed says, to me, reads like this. If you buy an airgun that has great accuracy and power, it makes you want another. I get it and I think most airgunners do too.
And I guess I'm guilty of wasting my money too since I have 30 something airguns. No wait, they make me happy so it's not a waste, the way I see it.
To each their own.
But don't criticize us that are in it that enjoy it.
SAFE & Happy Shooting!!!!
Dave

Congratulations on your new rifle, sounds like you have a nice, solid shooter there,,, nice looking rifle too :) Looking forward to your upcoming posts on the rifle as you get used to it and put it through it's paces.
As for some remarks made in this thread....... the authors intent was to share his excitement and enjoyment of his new rifle with fellow GTA members, something we can all appreciate having made similar posts ourselves in the past. If you cannot share the posters excitement then don't post.... inflammatory remarks will not be tolerated.

Myself and AFmuse decided to try and tune the hammer a bit. using a 3k fill as baseline, and about 1000 fps, its shooting one hole, at 20 yds, and getting 25+ shots down to about 2500 psi. while not great, its a base line. until i have my tank here, and lots of air, i cannot even begin to start really dialing in the tune settings. i know you can no longer hear the hammer bouncing, the mechanical sound is a lot quieter, and the Extreme spread seems good.
-
Congrats bigblock, my fill hose has been slowed according to the company :P. I want to shoot it so bad ;D
-
Glad to see you got yourself a good shooter there Edward.
Enjoy!!
-
Congrats Ed, we do hope u can make it to the fun shoot this year. Yep M-Rods are fun to shoot n play wiff. Lots of mods available for em to.
As for me, in my first two years in the air gun sport/hobby, I bought over a hundred air rifles. Yes I was broke but had allot of fun...:) Just remember one thing... You cant take it with you...:) That is my philosophy...:) and I am standing by it...:)

;) ;) ;D Don't forget the old saying from the big boys club "He who dies with the most toys wins" and yes very true you can't take it with you! If you do some one may try to dig you up to get it. ;D ;D ;D
-
First I would like to say R&L are great to deal with. Second the MROD .25 was my first PCP, and I got a pigeon at 105 yards. After that I got my son a MROD .22 that was tuned by Paul B because I destroyed my son's Bronco.
My advice is stretch her legs a bit and you will be making 70 yard shots all day. The MROD is a really nice rifle, and I have found it more accurate than my Talon Pistol. Now I want a Daystate, AA510S, or a Huntsman. My wife told me I am never happy with what I already have. ;)
-
;D ;) I think I remember you saying that your wife was a Keeper ;D ;D ;D
That desire for an S 510 or Daystate doesn't make you a bad person PCP rifles are FUN ;D ;D
;) ;) ;D My wife told me I am never happy with what I already have. ;)

I never said she was a keeper, I said child support and alimony would make me homeless. :'(

;) ;) ;D Don't forget the old saying from the big boys club "He who dies with the most toys wins"
Slight correction, he who dies is now dead and I can buy all his cool stuff really cheap at the subsequent yard sale. :D

I made the mistake of letting the wife know the value of my guns, and the tune involved in each. When she has a yard sale after my demise she can get some nice coin, that is if my 10 year old doesn't take them as his inheritance.

I'm scratching your house off the list then. ;D
I'm a bit cynical about the whole thing really, as my family auctioned off everything when my Grandfather passed away, like a bunch of vultures. I'm not a greedy person, but he had a cheap little NA .22 that he carried with him always, and I would have loved to have it for that reason only, but refused to bid against complete strangers for it.
I'm single, and no kids. When I die my stuff is to be given away to family and friends that appreciate it and will use it. If any money changes hands, I'm coming back to haunt people.

I honored my mother's wishes and signed my part of the house to my brother, but I asked him for the title of her old Camero. He wanted both but agreed. I would have signed anyways but I was not going to let his greed get in the way. :)
