The reason I ask, A few yrs ago, My wife bought me a Benji Trail for Christmas, and I never got around to trying it out 'til warm weather arrived, and when I did, The gun barely had enough power to send a pellet out the barrel, I said it must of been dry-fired a thousand times,,,,My wife looked at me, and asked "How can you tell?", and stupified I said "I really don't know",,The thing is,,,I should Know,,and I don't.
So, what do you guy's say,,,,How can you tell if a gun's been dry-fired?, Thank's, Andy.

No, I don't think so.
Only way to know if it's damaged from dry firing is to open it up.

Usually the only signs of a dry fire that are obvious is a broken spring or smashed seal both of which require an internal inspection..

Granted,There is a 500fps rule, But This gun was an obvious "Lemon", Even a sub-500fps gun should be able to put a 14.3gr Crosman Field Point through a Campbell's soup can at 10ft,,This thing couldn't even penetrate one side, at near point blank range,,,anyway's, The gun was an "open box" offering, that was in the display case prior to my wife buying it,,I know, I know,,,But it wasn't me who bought it,,They must of seen her coming a mile away, a 4',11" "Filipina" who knows nothing about guns.LOL!,,,Everything turned out ok though, after having it sit for nearly two years, I finally got a conversion kit, and switched out everything, The strut that I pulled out of the gun could be compressed between both of your hands, there was that little resistance,,So, that's why I figure it was dry fired a couple hundred X,,I could be wrong, but I've never bought, or even seen a gun so weak,LOL,,My old Chinese B1 had more balls than this thing,,Anyway's, I don't think my wife will be buying me anymore air gun's in the future ;D
