Title: Remanufactured Hatsans ?
Post by: jrhunter on February 08, 2014, 03:05:49 PM
After looking over my actual budget I can only afford about 200 bucks, so that leaves the Marauder out, but then I remembered that there are remanufactured hatsans that are less than the regular ones. But what does it mean to be a remanufactured mean ? Less quality ? The not so good ones ? Less powerful and less accurate ?

No not at all. I don't know about Hatsan in particular, but most manufacturers' "remanufactured" are items that were returned for some reason. Person changed their mind about the purchase, damaged packaging, someone can't shoot and blamed the gun, who knows? They are checked out and put back to new specs, if necessary.
If anything you might be less likely to get a dud getting refurbs simply because it was checked out as opposed to just boxed up and sent out with little or no testing.

yep, sometimes there are cosmetic flaws that were the cause of return (bad bluing or issues with the stock)  that aren't really worth fixing so sometimes you get those in the refurb plan too.

I got a refurbed model 85 from Airgun Web and it was absolutely flawless.  These are indeed "built like a tank" just as Gene reported awhile back.  It's a little rough around the edges but alot of gun for the money.  It's a powerhouse too, shooting 14.3's in the mid 760's.

If you can find what you want remanufactured, I'd definitely do that.
