Welcome to the GTA. Go into the Crosman gate and seek your answers. More folks will see it.

Third variant, the most common one.   I say that because it had the longest production run.    Here is a good resource.

this was taken from the cr web site on the 160's

"Pellgun Rifle. CO2, two powerlets, .22 cal., single shot. First variant without barrel band. Second variant with barrel band. Third variant with die cast trigger housing and Model S331 peep sight"

what you have is a second vairant, late '62 to early '63 to about 65-66 when the third came out. the first variant had a safety problem and a quick fix was made on it.  the first variant had the trigger/sear as part of the stock and the virbrations of shooting would lossen the stock screw causing a mis-fire as the stock lossened .
On the second varient , crosman modified the trigger assembly to fit on the tube so if the stock were to lossen it wouldn't mis-fire.
third varient had the die cast trigger housing. it was used by the US military for training along with the Cr 38T, to save on cost of training.
