Title: New Marauder Wood Stock
Post by: Dick Tracey on January 14, 2014, 08:09:51 AM
I saw this yesterday and was surprised nobody has posted it yet.  At least I couldn't see a post.

It looks like a wood stock designed after the composite one.  I think it is a really pretty gun.  I guess I will have to start saving my pennies.

I would have preferred a wood cheek piece, but that's not enough distraction to dampen my interest any.  I'm waiting to see a review or two on the .25 - and price of course - but I believe this will be what I've been looking for.

And maybe if I can sneak enough funds for an NP2 in .22...

Too bad they moved the trigger back, etc or I'd consider it for my .25 ... Oh well, still saving my pennies and it looks like Norm is gonna get 'em after all :)

I can see a nice bed liner paint job or even a color bed liner coat. I will buy that if available!!!

I did not see it thank you for posting!!

I was surprised to see the syn cheek riser too.   Think I saw a MSRP of $700, which seems a bit high.   I was guessing about a $100 over the syn rod.   The picture does show more grain and better color than a typical Gen1 Mrod.

I had not, thanks for posting.  I do like the look in wood, though would have also preferred a wood cheek rest.

I will have to count my penny's when they finally have a hard price to see if it is worth it to me.

Save for the synthetic cheek rest, it is a vast improvement over the gen 1 version and the Synrod for that matter.  Yep! Looks really good.  When the day comes and a .25 cal is needed, it'll be one of the AGs considered.

Only appeal for me is a sturdier mount for the sling studs, but that is an easy fix in the synRod.  (and it shouldn't need to be fixed...)

For the price u better be saving quarters instead of pennies. The new mrod is suppose to be 700 MRSP and it probably wont come out until the november so U have some time.

 Cheers

I think its ugly as you know what with that plastic comb.

The wood comb is much better. I knew that when the 'WoodRod' came out it was going to have the syntetic comb.

It must really not so good to pay the extra money for the wooden stock and get stuck with the synthetic comb.

I am making wood replacements as well as a cheekpiece...

That was going to be my thought also,  just make a wooden check piece.  Looks like a good after market add on.  Even a possibility of a Tyrolean  carved cheek piece.....hmmmm..now if it had an octagon barrel.

Also consider that a MSRP of $700 will probably sell in the neighborhood of $575.00.  If you want to be first you will pay more.  lol.  Also when the Remans come out they will get the price down a bit more.

If it weren't for my current domestic situation, that baby would be MINE right now.
I figure if I can't have it, I'd love to see another high ranking I.F.A.R.T. member with it.

It's OK,.... you can cuss me later in a PM  :o  ;D

Too bad they moved the trigger back, etc or I'd consider it for my .25 ... Oh well, still saving my pennies and it looks like Norm is gonna get 'em after all :)

Norm's work is excellent. I have one of Norm's stocks on my .25, and if my 10 yo son wants one I will get it for him (if he will ever let me shoot it). :)

X2 on Norms work, He does a beautiful job.
I have one of his Blaster stocks on my. 22 Mrod.

I STRONGLY suggest you get it with and adjustable comb., as the Blaster comb is way too low for use on a scoped Mrod, and does not allow for a decent cheek weld.

Nice.........I just have no need for the adj. comb.  I opted for a Discos R Us option with TH.

What is the difference between the 1st gen & 2nd gen MRODS? I had a .25 that was a really good shooter.
