Title: Scope sugggestions for a new to me .22 Disco
Post by: Hugginjugs on January 05, 2014, 11:25:59 PM
Ok, I've been bit by the PCP bug. Bad!! Just got my first PCP rifle on Jan. 1, a .25 Synrod. Still breaking it in on its stock tune. So I'm looking around all the various forums, and I come across a used Disco in .22 cal. It has the BNM multi breech and shroud. Near new condition. Long story short, payment was sent and I'm waiting on it to arrive. 8) 8) So I'm shopping for a scope. The Maurader is equipped with a Tasco Target/ Varmit 2.5x10-42mm left over from a previous rim fire. It seems like an ok scope, but the weather has been so bad I've only used it indoors at 11 yards. I am considering another one, or a UTG 3-9x40mm AO. I have one of there bug busters on my springer and like it.
Thoughts?
Thanks.
Sorry for the long winded post :o

The UTG scopes are very good IMO. I have a few of them. But any scope is ok for PCP guns. I think you'll find that one with mil dot reticles is beneficial.

A budget and a purpose for the scope would be helpful...

Good point. Purpose: pest elimination/ plinking. 70-80 yards max. Budget: Both mentioned scopes are under 100 dollars. How about the UTG SWAT compact 3x12-44 with 30mm tube. $83 on Amazon right now.

Here is a link for the scope I put on my mrod.It is a good scope for the money and you can get a side wheel to put on it.I am no expert on scopes but out of about 8 scopes I have used this is the clearest one and it is reasonably priced.              https://www.pyramydair.com/product/utg-3-12x44-ao-swat-accushot-rifle-scope-ez-tap-illuminated-mil-dot?a=3493 (https://www.pyramydair.com/product/utg-3-12x44-ao-swat-accushot-rifle-scope-ez-tap-illuminated-mil-dot?a=3493)

Thanks for the link.
Basically what I'm leaning towards. Looking at the compact version on Amazon. They have a 20 dollar savings on select UTG items over $100. Makes it $83. Right in my price range.

I wanted the regular version because I wanted to use a red light mounted to the scope for night hunting.

Ordered the UTG 30mm SWAT 3-12x44 compact IE. I think this will work well for me. I like that I can add the adjustment wheel also.

mcc1961,

I'll be getting disco soon and will be looking for a scope to mount on it. I have seen talk about poi and zoom.

Have you noticed any of this with this scope, i.e... sighted in at 50 yd at xx zoom, then change zoom and poi changes at the same 50 yd.

I just picked that exact scope up from PA with the wheel. It's now on my disco and so far I like it.It's very clear and focuses well.Looks right on the rifle. My only complaint is the stock on the disco seems to small and takes some fiddling to get where I like it.A blaster stock should take care of that though.
