Title: HW30s Scope ?
Post by: AB173 on January 03, 2014, 09:59:43 AM
I have a number of very good and expensive High Power centerfire rifle scopes just collecting dust after selling off some of my my high power hunting rifles. Scopes such as Leupolds,Elites,Zeiss,Nikons etc.
Since the HW30s has such little recoil,do you think these scopes would hold up since they are not spring gun rated? I have the Williams peep on the HW30s now and intend to keep it that way but I would like to try a scope on it every now and then just for the heck of it.

I'd chance it Ray.  Really nice rifle scopes are easy to sell and if you want to experiment with scoping the HW30 then a small 4x Leapers for $40 might be a better way to go.

I just purchased a Hammers 3x9x40AO for $65.09 from Amazon. I'm in CA. so Amazon charges me sales tax.
It is a High power springer scope that you can shoot at 5yards or more. Haven't received it yet, but it sounded like a good scope, thought I would try it. It also has a lifetime warranty. It also has the mil dot duplex.

I have an old (circa 1983) Bushnell 4x on my HW30s, and it is working out great so far.  Probably less than a full tin pellets shot since installation.

The Leupold should have a lifetime warranty if any problems arise. Which one is it.

One is a  VXlll 1.5-5 X20mm and the other is a Vari-ll 2x7. I wasn't thinking, none of these scopes would work cause they are Parllax adjusted to @100 yards.

I think I like this one, that or the 2x-7xx32 AO. I do like the 30/30 retical over the mil dot retical.I never could understand the reasoning of putting mil dot reticals in airgun scopes. They are a useful idea for a military sniper rifle though. With that said,I do have a Hawke with the mil dot on my Diana 34,mainly because that was the only game in town at the time. It's ok but the mil dot retical is just to busy for my eyes.
