I bought 1 of the Remington Express airguns they just came out with. Its a copy of the R9. I decided to give it a tune because its full of oil inside. I put it in spring compressor, knocked out the 2 pins and thought it should have came apart but it didn't. Is there something else holding the trigger unit in ? It looks like it should slide out but won't budge. Someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thank You, Gary

saw this one myself and im gonna pick one up monday, im sure someone will chime in and get you going in the right direction, sweet looking guns
-
It looks like it could be the saftey thats holding it in. Is there a way to get the saftey out before taking out the 2 pins ?
-
you need to remove the safety, pull safety button out and remove, look at rear on the bottom of the action, you will see a hole by the trigger group, need to remove set screw, spring and ball, pull reset lever out, now remove pins, should come free...
-
who,s selling them ?
-
sportsmanswarehouse, basspro shops, couple online vendors to, basspro has them online $119

Flying Dragon is working on getting some....may have a wait though. They are made at the Xisico factory so should have good barrels. With some minor changes to the trigger it turns out really nice

I rather wait for u Mike cause i know what im getting ....jorge

I just got one.Casual resemblance to a R-9.Trigger is entirely different.Barrel locking detent is a ball type instead of the HW chisel.Appearance is very good.First three shots sounded like a .22 long rifle.Fourth shot on was about like a Diana 34.Accuracy appears to be OK.Trigger pull is decent.I haven't tried the adjustment screw.Be careful cocking them.On mine at least the sear catches at the extreme end of the barrel break.Almost feels like it isn't going to cock.So far I like it.
-
Ken, would love to hear your experiences with this one: accuracy, velocity etc.
Thanks,
Scotty

I'm shooting while running a CNC machining center at work so no chrono tonight.Still playing with open sights. The open sights are what you might expect. The front was canted very slightly to the right.I've been rotating that a bit. It's easily enough done. The sight is a press fit and retained by a set screw.I've about got it sighted in where I want it.Cocking is getting to be more positive as well.It appears that it will be accurate.I'm still burning oil off at the moment.MidwayUSA has the best price on them the last time I checked.
-
+1 on Midway--$99. That's a good price. Glad to hear it's shooting well for you. I'm planning on selling off a few rifles and then getting a .177. This one has made it's way onto my short list.

I'm trying to take this rifle apart as it has started making a lot of creaking noises when cocking and hopefully just needs cleaning up and greasing.
I have followed the above steps: removed the grub screw, let the spring and tiny pin fall out then removed the safety arm. This has then left a long spring loaded pin attached to the red safety marker (which is on the other side from the arm).
I cannot then remove this pin as it is blocked by the top of the trigger sear. Does this pin have to come out before being able to remove the pins holding the spring?
-
yes it has to come out and if I had one in front of me would be able to tell you just what to do...try tapping the pins for the group out should be able to move group so it comes out????
-
I'll have another go tonight and try to take a pic. Might jog your memory.
I may also be able to take apart the trigger pins and then remove the blocking piece (if the trigger can be dismantled in place), i just had visions of springs pinging across the room and never getting it back together properly :-\
From the Remington Express manual (cant post a link), it is the top of part number 45 that is blocking in part number 26 in the exploded diagrams
-
try this, with rifle action upside down use a punch and tap on the hook that hooks into the piston, that will set the trigger and let the part pop out...then remove the pins holding the group in...
-
I ended up removing the 2 pins that hold the trigger and the seesaw thing that the trigger contacts. This allowed me to remove those pieces of the trigger which then seemed to allow sufficient movement in the sear that contacts the piston to move it out of the way. The spring loaded safety pin then shot out the side :)
Fortunately, I was able to find it.
Thanks for your help

I noticed that Gander Mountain has the Remington express on the shelf. There is two different models labeled Remington Express with different boxes, same price $149 (I think it was $89 last week). Both the same price but one has a higher advertised Velocity. Anybody know what the story is?

Price check!!!!!! Just picked up a Remington Express Synthetic today at my local Walmart for $79. Has the fiber optic sights. That's a great deal in my book. They had 5 more just like it.

I agree, that is a very good deal.
I have bought three Remington Express. One needed nothing and shoots just great 'out of the box'. Another had many things wrong with it, bent barrel, cut piston seal and more. It needed a tune to shoot well. The third is somewhere between the other two, and will probably get a tune.
