How early was the Williams peep sight offered on the sheridan from the factory? Anyone know?
Thanks,
Thomas

The earliest rifle I have seen with a Williams peep sight from the factory is 1955. I believe they were offered as early as 1952. The Model designation is CW for the Silver Streak and CBW for the Blue Streak.

Do you know if those models were designated on the gun or only on the box? Trying to tell if a dan is factory sighted with a Williams or aftermarket.
Thanks,
Thomas

If it was originally a CW(silver w/ Williams) or CBW(blue w/ Wil) the hand guard would be an inch or so longer than the normal hand guard. I think they did that so any marks left by a removed rear to make a CW or CBW would not show. There is no designation on the gun for Sights or finish as they were all C series but C meant Silver to the Factory and Blue was CB. The Box was the only place a Model number was shown, in any case.
