As its getting closer (just a couple days!!) to getting my HW97KT .22, I'm wondering what everyones scoping their HW97K's with? I have a 4-16x40 Centerpoint spare to put on it. If I'm happy with that I may leave it with that though. I've read that anything over 14" will put it over the breech. Can anyone confirm this? I think the CP scope is about 14.5", cutting it close ???
I have no experience with my spare CP scope as it was a replacement to the the 3-9x40 that came with my Trail, but I mounted a Leapers 4-16x40 on that. Seems like a nice scope though.
I would like to opt for a Hawke 3-12x44 Varmint SF or one of the 3 Panorama 4-12x40s. Maybe a Hawke Airmax 4-12x40, maybe the same 4-16x40 Leapers.... IDK!!
New predicament for me, only time will tell if I'm happy with the CP scope on this mighty fine Weihrauch. I hear such great reviews for Hawke. I would prefer a zoom higher than x9 though, I know that much. x9 is good but I love the upto x16 on my Leapers, a x12 would be nice too.
So whats everyone running? And if you own any of the scopes I suggested, maybe get your input on them? Oh and btw I have a medium 1 piece Sportsmatch mount coming with mine so I gotta limit my objective to 45mm. Thanks!

Leapers swat compac. Very nice short scope.

Even with a long scope, the HW97 has a generously sized loading port at the breech, and you should be able to load the rifle fine if the scope hangs over 1/4 inch or so. At 1/2 inch or more, it may start to get troublesome if the scope is mounted low to the rifle.

I have a long scope on my 48 .20 that is low and hangs well over 3/4 over the loading area. Personally it is a bit of a distraction loading but there again different gun. The small .177 and .20 in any fixed barrel are much harder to load.
I agree that a little over hang should not be a problem.

Hey Laz. Don't hesitate to put a longer scope on. This is a 6-24x56 Sidewinder on mine. It covers the entire port and there are no issues loading at all. I used BKL mounts.
What an awesome rifle!!
Have patience the first couple of tins. Mine took around 1500 rounds to settle in and she is ACCURATE!!

Have a Hawke Nite-Eye on my 97K, best scope I own

Nice scope jusanothajoe. JW did you bag those turkeys with an AG?

I have the 4-12X40 Panorama on my 77 with Burris Signature rings. No problem with loading. It will only go down to about 15 yards while my 3-9 Pan will go down to 10. I have an older model of your Centerpoint and the Panorama glass is much, much better.

Son runs a Hawke Eclipse 30 on his 97K .... use a Hawke Nighteye digital on my TX

Naw, got those with a scattergun

On my nicer springers I try to use the best glass I can..... Bushnell Elites & Weaver Classic V series scopes are Japanese made & have glass better than anything I have seen come out of China
