Title: RWS SUPER H POINT
Post by: 454 Big Block Chevy on July 19, 2010, 07:35:36 PM
EXTREMELY soft lead.... they definatly expand when hitting anything.  also very very accurate up until about 35 yds... seem to start keyholing after that.  also light for there caliber.

Just ordered some for my RWS 48.  I'm just hoping that they fit tight enough in the breach for me to get some accuracy out of them.

i shoot these exclusivly out of my MM tuned 22 b40 and i do 1in groups at 50yds and im not complaining. the only complaint i have is that rws no longer packages their 22 pellets in the 500 tin which only means more money for the same amount of pellets. i emailed them about it and couldnt get a straight answer out of them. go figure. its all about mo money

i agree tpw aout them not doing the 500 counts in .22......lame.....but i do like the super hpoints in .22 they shoot great as do the superdomes.....the super hpoints in .177 are to light for my guns...the .177 all eat superdomes or the super mags

i actually like the .177 for hunting with mild rifles... (r7, 753, 177x, etc...) they do a lot of damage in impact. with powerful rifles the supermags are the best...!

I tried the .22 Super H-Points in my Benji Trail XL and they show a lot of promise at 10 yards. That's the farthest I've shot them so far (in the basement) and I really want to see how they hold up at longer ranges. I too am disappointed in the packaging change to 250 count tins. Some vendors still have the 500 available for the time being.

I use them in my 1377C...very good on cottontails/ground squirrels to 30 yards..use to shoot them in my 850,but beyond 40 yards, they get a mind of their own..lol..

RWS SHP .177 cal. in my RWS 48 & RWS 46 folds a crow like a book up to 70ft.Ditto in the TF 99 in .22 cal.Lousy in the TF 78 PCP .22 cal. until pressure drops to around 1500-1600psi.Deadly for about 10 or so shots.
