how long can you safely leave a NP cocked? overnight a bad idea?
-
Indefinately, in theory. Personally, I dont like to leave a gun cocked for more than a couple of hours.
Happy Shooting!!!!

Thanks!
the reason i asked is, i was protecting my pecan tree last night, and i left the NP cocked overnight, i realized it at 5 am this morning... so 8 or so hours of cocked... i'm hoping i didn't damage anything. shot sound and felt like normal, so we shall see.

8 hours ? ..no worries, once I forgot my NP XL cocked for a week,...still good ;D ;D

Ah, you didn't hurt it Edward. Since it's not a springer. A springer left cocked will cause it to lose a LOT of power. It's just a hold-over for me to not want to leave a gun cocked. Not that it weakens anything, it's just that old habits die hard. ;D

yeah, i tell you what, i just finished about a 30 minute shooting session... shooting difference between the gamo (spring) and the titan gp (nitro) is night and day...

Which one is night? and which one is day?...:)

IMO it would be wise not to leave your Nitro Piston Air Guns cocked for extended periods. Leaving it cocked when hunting all day is ok, but putting it away cocked for days has bound to have some effects on if the ram will leak down some.
