A quick history and background.
As many of the old timers know, about 12 or 13 years ago I started up the CDT or CharlieDaTuna website. About a year later I began the tuning operation using the CharlieDaTuna website as a marketing vehicle. Shortly after that I then began developing the GRT trigger systems. It was about this time that I began training Gene in the airgun tuning business. About 18 months later I retired from the tuning business turned the airgun tuning business over to Gene. Shortly after that Gene and I as cofounders began the GTA forum with Gene and I being the executive administrators. At about the same time I started this CDT blog. I kept the blog alive for about three years.
For several years I had five different entities going on at the same time. Talk about being busy.
Earlier this year I relinquished my position as one of the executive administrators and appointed Dez as my replacement. He has done a fantastic job and is extremely dedicated to the GTA forum. Many thanks Dave.
So after retiring from the airgun tuning business, abandoning the CDT Blog and retiring as an executive administrator, only the website and the CDT trigger business remained.
Now the Grand Finale.
As most on the forum know, Gene and I have been cohorts for over 10 years now and have worked on many projects together over those years over and above cofounding and building the GTA forum. We are as thick as thieves…lol… BUT… there is one final mission that we are now moving into. This has been planned for over a year but I postponed by several months until now and Gene has once again been in training and what he has been busy with the last couple of months that I referred to in a previous post a short while ago.
Beginning today, November 1, 2013, Gene will be taking over the CDT website (with some slight changes in the website) as well as the GRT trigger business in their entirety and I will finally be totally retired. The website and GRT trigger business will be carried on by Gene as if it was still being run by me with no interruption other than domain change over period but everything has now been transferred into Gene’s name, lock..stock and barrel. It should be a seamless transition.
Any order submitted up until or about 3PM today will still be processed by me as usual. Orders after that will be going to and be processed by Gene. There may be a slight delay as the transition in servers’ takes place so a little patience may be in order.
Free at last…. Free at last…lol I am now retired.
Let’s hear three cheers for Gene, the new CDT rah rah rah Good luck Gene and have fun.
Bob aka: CDT

Bitter sweet news Bob. I am so very glad you are at a point to where you can finally relax and enjoy time with your great wife. The bitter part is seeing you get away from all this. I KNOW you will still be there, behind the scenes in one manner or another. But the stress level should be substantially lowered now.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you have done in the airgun world. You have made a mark in history that cannot be erased. YOU have made a difference!!!!!
I thank you for the trust you have bestowed on me to try and carry on a small part of your load as executive administrator of this most excellent forum. I'll do my utmost to honor your example and make improvements where I can. But I intend on upholding the core values you and Gene set down for this member driven home of ours.
I thank you for being my friend. It is an honor for me to call you and Gene family and true friends. I just wish we had and could spend more time rubbing elbows. Our once a year visits are too darn brief but that does make them even more special. Maybe I'll get to retire someday and move out to "paradise" as Gene calls it.
:)
Enjoy your well deserved down time Bob!!!
But DO NOT make yourself a stranger to our home. We still need you here for sure.
Congrats and GOD Bless my friend,
Dave

;D Congratulations to both of you and my special thanks to Bob with out your GRT 4G trigger in my Whisper would be stuck in the corner of the basement unused and I would have a fatter wallet instead I'ma very happy born again shooter after a 15 year layoff so a special thank you to Bob aka CDT

Congratulations and blessings, Mr. Bob! I know you have been working toward this transfer of responsibility for a long time now and it must be a relief to have finally achieved it. The CDT website and tuning business is in great hands with Mr. Gene. You will be proud of the future insured by his assumption of this great service. My first exposure to the wonders of adult airgunning came years ago when I first got one of your triggers for my first mature airgun and I was hooked! It was just a short hop from the CDT website to the GTA and I've been happy ever since. Thank you, Mr. Bob for all you have done for airgunners over the last decade. Very few individuals can honestly say they have impacted a whole industry and hobby but you can.
Also, congratulations Mr. Gene. I have no doubt that your ability to continue in the fine tradition as the new "tuna" on the block will withstand the test of time. I look forward to all you will be doing in the future through the CDT website and the trigger business. You have always been the heir apparent. Airgunning is definitely in good hands and I look forward to what will be developing over the next decade.

Surprise to me but, I just got here so I don't know much of the history other than what I read. And what I've read has inspired me to take on my first tune. I've read the tutorials and ordered the kit. The GRT-4 is next on the list. I envy your retirement as mine is still on my wishlist. GTA has been an instant addiction for me and I understand I have you, in part, to thank for that. Relax, it's not as bad as that sounded. Enjoy but, not too much, it seems that you have a family here that will be looking forward to the "Wish You Were Here" postcards.

Congratulations! I hope you and your wife enjoy the extra free time. Thank you for making GTA what it is.
-
Gene de Tuna?, Thanks for Taking the load off the old Fart. Now he can do what he loves.
Bob, Thanks for working so hard to get it right. You are an asset to the AG scene and I appreciate all you have done. You are such a class act it is inspiring. I hope you enjoy a very well deserved FUN TIME!
Retired Mac1 Style. You get up early and work hard till you get tired. You take a 30 minute break and power Nap and then go till you get tired again. Retired means tired twice every day, but loving every minute of it. Les McMurray died Christmas Morning 1977 after working Christmas Eve at the age of 86. Talk about Retired. He wrote the book. He semi-retired when I was 5 in 1959. He and I lived together for his last few years after Grama passed.
God Bless and may your retirement last for a long time. Thanks for all you have done.

Enjoy your retirement Bob and thanks for all you've done. It's appreciated that you turned it over to a good guy like Gene too.

Phew, I almost missed this thread. Mr. Bob, I have enjoyed doing business with CharlieDaTuna and also enjoyed you posts on GTA. And best wished to Mr. Gene.
Since I retired, I get up in the morning with nothing planned. I go to bed at night thoroughly exhausted. And I accomplished only half of what I started that day. I WISH THE SAME TO BOTH OF YOU! Good luck and blessings on both of you "gentlemen of air gunning".
-
Congratulations Bob, you're a man of character and a great role model for those of us ho have had the fortune of knowing this forum. Gods blessings and best wishes!
-
Congratulations !! and Thank you for all you have done !!
-
Congrats to you both and the best to come for both in the future.
My time has been short here but I can tell the passion of your endeavors, it shows.

Congratulations, Bob!!
Enjoy your well deserved retirement.
-
Congrats Bob and thanks to you and Gene for this forum since I have found much help and knowledge here.
How do you plan to have fun now that you have free time? Hunting? Fishing? Collecting? More time with family? All the above I hope.
-
You will find that retirement will be just as busy as working, if you choose to make it so. I still wonder when I found time to work, and I'm not really doing that much now. In any case, your life is now your own and you can choose to do whatever you want.
It is great that you and Gene have worked so hard to make sure everything you have been involved with here is going to continue without interruption and have things all lined up.
Thanks for all you have done, both here and in the context of triggers, etc. Congratulations, put your feet up and have a mature beverage!!
-
Good luck Bob, enjoy your retirement...
Gene it will be a pleasure doing business with you....
-
Good to know that I was one of the last to have his trigger order processed by the master himself! :D
Congrats, and thanks for a great product; I'm sure your wisdom on this board will have lasting effects!
Enjoy!
-
Good fortune and best wishes to you both, Bob and Gene.
-
Thats great! I hope you enjoy the time off.

Hi Bob,
Thank you for the wonderful website, and all the work it required and the ambience you created. The philosophy and culture of a website or any business reflects the personality of the owner, and this website evoked cooperation, friendliness and creativity. I visited a few other sites when I first got involved in airgunning, but when I found this one, it felt like home. It has so many resources and the members were always quick to help. As editor of a large website myself, I know how much work goes into something like this. People often think it happens by itself, but it's about passion and lots of work. I hope you enjoy your retirement, as it is so well deserved.
-
I picked up airguns with a springer - CDT was the first guy i came across when looking to get into modding. Thanks for the GRT trigger. I bought it after your retirment, great service still none the less.
-
Retirement is a thing we would all love to be able to choose, but in some cases health brings us to it and such was the case with my retirement fromThe Dianawerk Collective.
Old 20 plus year OTJ Injuries and 9 operations just caught up with me and I found that I couldn't keep up with the demands of overseeing the Forum properly.
Charlie, I am so glad your retirement was an easier choice!
I wish you and all the good things you do with airguns much luck and I hope to hear lots of you in the future!
Enjoy old friend!
Sincerely,
Dave Nemanic (AKA ZVP)

Congrates on your tour ending. Now you can sit back and relax and slow the horse down.
