Title: HW30S vs. R7
Post by: Marc on October 25, 2013, 04:52:39 PM
I see different velocities listed for the R7 and 30S in .177 cal.  Is this correct, or are they really the same?

Also - if you bought an R7 for short range nutters would you get the .177 or .20 cal?

Yes, Yes, I just sold my HW30S in .22 cal., and already realizing I should have kept it!

Same gun so the velocities would be the same. Probably old/new numbers. For anything other than 100% plinking, I would never get such a low powered gun in any other caliber than .177. I would also only get the 30S for the option of open sights.

I have a R7 w/o a safety in .177 and she is a joy to shoot..... I'd look into a older model. (hand cut checkering, stock and finish being superb)
