Title: 2240 Pest Control
Post by: kenhiraihnl on October 24, 2013, 07:34:11 PM
Here's a picture of my 2240 grab 'n go pest control carbine...I'm lucky that all of my Crosman guns shoot tight groups...Next week after I get all the stuff to send lead down range, I'll post a picture of my super pest control p-rod/Hill pump setup...and yes, I did go a little overboard on my $60 2240.  LOL

Going overboard with the 2240 is not the half of it...Here's a pic of my super pest controller...I forgot to order the female quick disconnect fitting for my Hill pump, so waited until it came in to take the picture.  I put a black dot on a plain sheet of paper with a Sharpie pen.  I had the P-rod punching one-holers in the dot after 5 shots.  I'm impressed with the scope too - first one over 32mm objective lens.  BTW I pumped it up to 2500 psi last night, and this morning it held pressure.  The first 5 rounds down the barrel was to zero the scope.  I have 2 extra magazines also loaded with JSB Exact Heavy 18.1's.  The remaining 3 shots in Magazine #1 will be over my chrony.  So nice to have a gun shoot to my 100% satisfaction basically out-of-the-box -- almost.  LOL

Edit: 0, 603, 604 fps

We're infested with bulbul birds.  They're about the size of starlings and are just as pesty.  Swapped the NcStar scope on the 2240 for a NcStar red/green dot.  One less bulbul to sit on the rear view mirror of my Highlander, and use the door for his personal toilet.  Our cat enjoyed playing with the fresh bulbul corpse.

I have no idea which birds here can be considered pests and eliminated.  The ones that tee me off are the mynas that try to bully the yellow billed cardinals away from the bread I put out.

With the idiot liberal laws here though, even yelling at them may be a crime.

Thanks for the insight, Robert...I live 2 rows of houses from an uninhabited forest preserve, but I see the potential ramifications.  Maybe I better look into the legal aspect of "teaching" bulbuls not to use my car door for their toilet.  I'll stop posting on this thread since I don't want to go down that road.  BTW, here's what New Zealand thinks about that pest...
