My (new to me) .22 came with a chrony print-out from AoA, indicating it was tested with RWS Hobby pellets. These are 11 grain. Should I refrain from shooting 14 grain pellets in this unit?

JMO but I'd stay in the 12gn range :-\ :P

You might try some of the JSB 13.4 grain pellets. They are lighter than most in .22 and since they are soft lead, they will often pop out of the barrel faster. My Diana 27 shoots the JSB 15.9 faster than the harder Crosman 14.3 and the 13.4 JSB are faster then the heavier jsbs of course.
