The serial number on the rifle is 982022068 . About what years did Coleman own the Crosman company ? The rifle has a BSA 2-7 X AO scope on it. Shooting off a bench rest with the target at 10 meters I tried eight different pellets using 9 pumps. Four of the five shot groups were between 0.422 and 0.486 inches . The largest group of the remaining groups was 0.641 inches. Iv not test fired it a 20 yards to see if it has cottontail accuracy at that distance. Please tell me about this old pump up 22 Cal air rifle.

Your rifle was made in Sept. 1982. (first 3 digits) It uses most of the same parts as the 2100, so reseals will not be a problem. All mods for a 2100 will work.
Groups can be slightly improved by removing the front sight, then the soda straw barrel, and shimming the barrel for a snug fit in the front sight assembly. Reinstall and shoot.
Cottontails don't stand a chance. Bon Appetit! ;D

Mine prefers the old Copperhead wadcutters... If you are looking for the exploded parts view, it's the 2280 on the Crosman site... If she shoots well for you, she's a keeper... I haven't done any work to mine yet but I think replacing the barrel is the key to better accuracy..

It's a solid 10-12 ft-lb rifle (550-600 fps), so cottontails inside 25 yards shouldn't stand a chance :D
I found this GTA thread on 2200's, thought you might enjoy reading it: http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=14864.0 (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=14864.0)
